01Overview

What the HV-QNE-C8013RL is

The Hanwha HV-QNE-C8013RL is a 5MP AI network flateye camera built around a 1/2.8" CMOS sensor and a 3.0mm fixed lens with an F1.2 maximum aperture — the wide opening drives colour sensitivity down to 0.022 lux, with 0Lux capture once the LEDs are on.

What separates it from a plain IR bullet is the dual 30m illumination: a warm colour LED alongside an 850nm IR LED, both reaching 30m, so the operator picks between covert infrared and colour-accurate lighting per scene.

The on-board AI engine classifies people and five vehicle sub-types (car, bus, truck, motorcycle, bicycle), and drives WiseNRⅡ noise reduction and WiseStreamⅢ codec so bandwidth follows scene complexity.

IP66, IP67 and IK10 ratings plus a -40°C to +60°C operating range cover exposed outdoor mounting; ONVIF S/G/T/M keeps it VMS-compatible.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the HV-QNE-C8013RL

Dual 30m Light System, Not Just IR

Most cameras at this tier ship IR-only. This one pairs 850nm IR (covert, undetectable to the eye) with a warm colour LED at the same 30m reach — the colour LED preserves clothing shade, vehicle colour and licence plate detail at night, which pure IR cannot.

Flateye Body Avoids Dome Ageing

Dome bubbles scratch, cloud with UV over years, and blur any adjustment you make at commissioning. The flateye housing puts the lens on the outside — no cover to age, no plastic to distort the 5MP image over the camera's service life.

On-Camera AI That Filters Alerts

The AI engine tags each detection as a Person or a Vehicle sub-type (car / bus / truck / motorcycle / bicycle) before it fires a rule. That means virtual line crossing or intrusion zones only alarm on real targets — trees, shadows and animals stop generating night calls.

Rated for Reachable Positions

IK10 impact resistance survives a deliberate hit at head height; IP66 handles jetted water, IP67 covers temporary submersion. Combined with -40°C to +60°C operation, it goes on carpark columns, warehouse loading bays, or exterior eaves without an enclosure.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Front-of-House Retail Entrance

Warm colour LED at 30m keeps clothing and product colours visible at close-out and after-hours, while on-camera people counting streams straight to a VMS without a separate footfall analytics box.

Multi-Bay Carparks

Vehicle sub-type classification (car / bus / truck / motorcycle / bicycle) lets a rule fire only on cars entering a reserved bay, dropping false alerts from cyclists cutting through — useful for shared-tenancy commercial buildings.

Eave & Soffit Mount on Older Buildings

Flateye housing sits flat against a soffit without the parallax distortion a dome cover creates at an angle — a common Australian issue on federation-era verandahs and heritage timber eaves.

Warehouse Loading Bays

IK10 tolerates knocks from forklifts and pallet loads swung too close; IP66/IP67 handles wash-down and driving rain through open roller doors, letting one camera cover the dock apron day and night.

Queue-Aware Service Counters

Queue management analytics run on-camera, so the site can trigger a staff callout when a line builds past a threshold at pharmacies, service desks or event box offices, without a separate BI stack.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the HV-QNE-C8013RL

Q.01

Why pick a dual light camera over an IR-only unit?
850nm IR gives you covert night coverage, but everything in the image is monochrome — no clothing colour, no licence plate colour, no vehicle paint. The warm colour LED on this camera hits the same 30m range and preserves colour at night, which is often the deciding evidence in a retail or carpark incident.
Q.02

How does the on-camera AI classification actually help on site?
The AI engine tags each detection as a Person or a Vehicle (car, bus, truck, motorcycle, bicycle) before applying rules. That means a virtual line crossing rule set to vehicles will only fire on cars — not on pedestrians walking past, not on birds or leaves. Fewer nuisance alarms reach the monitoring team.
Q.03

Which VMS platforms does it work with?
The camera ships with ONVIF Profile S, G, T and M certifications, so it drops into any ONVIF-compatible VMS. Native integration with Hanwha's own Wisenet WAVE and SSM platforms is fullest — SUNAPI (HTTP API) is also documented for custom integrations.
Q.04

What's the practical difference between the flateye body and a regular dome?
A dome cover scratches, clouds with UV, and can create internal reflection off the IR LEDs. The flateye housing has no outer cover over the lens, so the 5MP image quality is what leaves the sensor — nothing sits in front of it to fog, refract or age.
Q.05

Is there any additional licence to unlock the analytics?
No. Object classification, virtual line, virtual area (loitering, intrusion, enter, exit), tampering, defocus detection, people counting, queue management, heatmap and vehicle counting are all included on the camera itself, accessible via the web interface or any ONVIF-capable VMS.
Q.06

Can I run this over standard PoE, or do I need PoE+?
Standard PoE is enough. It draws PoE Class 3 (IEEE 802.3af), max 10.0W and typical 4.5W — any PoE (not PoE+) switch port with headroom will run it, including when both LEDs are active.
Q.07

How much of the microSD slot can I use?
The slot supports SD, SDHC and SDXC cards up to 256GB for standard edge recording. If you enrol the camera into Hanwha's OnCloud edge service, that limit lifts to 1TB — the camera is one of the first Q-series units to support that ceiling.
Q.08

What are the DORI distances for this 3.0mm lens?
Detect at 45.9m, Observe at 18.3m, Recognize at 9.2m, Identify at 4.6m — these are the certified EN62676-4 figures. Because the lens is fixed at 3.0mm, you'll want people you actually need to identify inside about 4.6m of the camera.
Q.09

Does it comply with Australian regulations?
Yes. RCM certification under AS/NZS CISPR 32 Class A covers electromagnetic compatibility for use in Australia; NDAA compliance is also declared, alongside Hanwha's own secure boot, signed firmware and firmware encryption stack.
Q.10

How do I keep the firmware current?
Two options: bulk-update through Wisenet Device Manager, or download the current release from the product page on hanwhavision.com and push it via the camera's web interface. Signed firmware means the camera refuses to load anything that isn't a legitimate Hanwha image.
