What the QNE-8011R is
The Hanwha Wisenet QNE-8011R is a 5MP outdoor flateye camera built around a 1/2.8" CMOS sensor and a fixed wide-angle lens (F2.0), giving a 105° horizontal field of view from a compact, flush-mounted body.
On-site pan (0°-350°), tilt (0°-75°) and rotate (0°-360°) adjustment lets installers fine-tune the aim without swapping brackets.
Night vision reaches 20m using 850nm IR LEDs, backed by 0.15 lux colour and 0.015 lux black-and-white sensitivity, while wide dynamic range and SSNR digital noise reduction keep footage usable in mixed lighting.
The aluminium housing is IP67 weatherproof and IK10 impact-resistant, rated for -30°C to +55°C operation, so it suits exposed eaves, verandahs and driveways across Australia.
H.265/H.264 compression with WiseStream II keeps bandwidth in check, recordings can be stored onboard on a micro SD card up to 128GB, and the camera is powered simply over a single PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 3) cable.

Why choose a flateye design over a standard dome camera?
A dome camera's clear cover can scratch, fog with condensation, or slightly distort the image as it ages. The QNE-8011R's flateye body has no dome cover at all, so the lens stays exposed and the image stays consistent over the camera's life — and there's no cover to unclip and refit every time you adjust the mounting angle during install.

What does the IK10 rating actually mean for where I can mount this?
IK10 is the top impact-resistance rating in the IEC 62262 standard listed on the datasheet, which is what makes this camera suitable for accessible, exposed positions — a carpark column, a ground-floor wall, or a stairwell landing — where knocks or interference are more likely than on a high eave. It's rated alongside IP67 dust and water sealing, so the same housing that resists impact also resists Australian weather.

The built-in micro SD/SDHC/SDXC slot takes cards up to 128GB. That's mainly a backup layer — if the link to your NVR or network drops, the camera keeps recording locally instead of leaving a gap, and on a remote or hard-to-cable site it can stand in for network recording rather than replace it.

WiseStream II analyses each scene and pushes more compression onto static background while keeping detail on moving subjects, working alongside H.265 rather than instead of it. In practice that means fewer gigabytes recorded per hour of footage than a fixed-bitrate stream, which is where the saving shows up — smaller NVR drives and less bandwidth for remote viewing.

Hallway view rotates the recorded image into a portrait orientation (90°/270°) instead of the usual landscape frame. It's worth turning on for corridors, aisles, stairwells, or lift lobbies, where a normal landscape view mostly captures ceiling and floor — the rotated frame follows the length of the space instead.
