The Hikvision DS-2DF9C848LXG-LW is an 8 MP DarkFighterX laser PTZ speed dome with a 48x optical zoom and a laser illuminator that reaches up to 800 metres. It is built for the longest-range jobs, such as wide perimeters, coastlines, mine sites and large open ground, and uses deep-learning target classification for auto-tracking and perimeter protection.

The Hikvision DS-2DF9C848LXG-LW is the long-reach option in this range: an 8 MP DarkFighterX laser PTZ with a 48x optical zoom (6.6 to 316.8 mm) and a laser illuminator that lights targets up to 800 metres away.
A 1/1.2" sensor records 3840 x 2160 video, and 140 dB Wide Dynamic Range holds detail when a scene mixes deep shade and bright sky.
It is made for the widest sites, such as long perimeters, coastlines, ports, mines and open rural ground, where a fixed camera or a shorter-range PTZ simply cannot reach.
Deep-learning target classification is what turns that reach into useful security.
The camera labels people and vehicles, so auto-tracking 2.0 can lock onto a target and follow it, and perimeter rules such as line crossing and intrusion alarm on real targets rather than moving foliage.
A built-in gyroscope steadies the picture at extreme zoom, 300 presets with patrol and pattern scans automate a tour of key views, and a rain-sensing auto wiper keeps the front glass clear in a downpour.

Power and cabling
Plan for a Hi-PoE injector or a dedicated supply; a normal NVR PoE port will not run a laser PTZ. Run network back to the recorder, using fibre or a media converter for long pole runs.
Mounting
Fit it high and on a very solid mount, because at 48x any sway is magnified. A pendant or pole mount with a clear line of sight suits long-range coverage.
