The Hikvision DS-2DF8C842IXS-AELW is an 8 MP 4K DarkFighter PTZ speed dome made for watching, and reaching across, very large sites such as airports, highways, ports and critical infrastructure.
A 1/1.2" sensor records 3840 x 2160 video, and the 42x optical zoom (7.5 to 315 mm) lets one camera hold a wide overview and then close in on a face or a number plate far down the site.
DarkFighter low-light technology keeps a usable picture as light fades, and 120 dB Wide Dynamic Range balances a bright sky against shaded ground.
The smart movement is the reason to fit a PTZ at this level.
On-camera deep learning labels people and vehicles, so auto-tracking can lock onto a target and follow it across the scene, and line-crossing and intrusion rules alarm on real targets rather than wind or weather.
A built-in gyroscope steadies the image at full zoom, where the smallest vibration is magnified, and 300 presets with patrol and pattern scans let the camera tour a fixed set of views on a schedule.
The 360-degree endless pan leaves no blind spot around the mount, and face capture plus vehicle attribute reading suit identity-aware and traffic monitoring.

Power and cabling
Plan for PoE 802.3bt or a 24 VAC supply; a standard NVR PoE port will not run it. Run network back to the recorder and keep cable runs within Ethernet limits or use a fibre or media-converter link for long distances.
Mounting
Fit it on a solid pole or a rated wall or pendant bracket at a height that clears obstructions for the long zoom. A steady mount matters because any sway is magnified at 42x.
Setup
