What the DS-2CD2347G2-LSU/SL is

The Hikvision DS-2CD2347G2-LSU/SL is a 4 MP ColorVu turret that records vivid colour day and night and adds an active deterrent on top.

The 1/1.8" sensor and F1.0 aperture pull in enough light to keep faces, clothing and vehicle colours visible in the dark, and 130 dB WDR holds detail when a bright sky sits behind a shaded doorway or carport.

Where it differs from an ordinary camera is what happens when someone should not be there.

AcuSense deep-learning analytics classify human and vehicle targets, so motion and line-crossing rules ignore cats, rain and moving branches.

When a real person or vehicle crosses a zone you have set, the camera can flash its white strobe light and play a recorded or live audible warning, which is often enough to send an intruder off before anything happens.

A built-in microphone and speaker also let you talk to visitors or delivery drivers through the Hik-Connect app.

This is a compact metal turret rated IP67 for Australian sun, dust and driving rain, with a fixed 2.8 mm wide lens or a 4 mm lens for a tighter view down a path or driveway.

Power and network it over one PoE cable, or use 12 VDC, and record it to a Hikvision AcuSense NVR so the human and vehicle events stay quick to search.

Note the supplement light is white light for full colour, not infrared, so at night the scene is lit in colour rather than black and white.

Mount it on a wall or eave overlooking the area you want to cover and run one network cable back to a PoE switch or NVR, or use a 12 VDC supply. Set the lighting, audio warning and AcuSense rules in the software, and add it to a Hikvision AcuSense NVR for recording and event search.

The 2.8 mm gives a wider view that suits a front entrance, carport or small yard, while the 4 mm narrows the field of view to reach a little further down a driveway or boundary. Choose 2.8 mm for coverage and 4 mm for distance.

Does it need a Hikvision NVR?

It works with ONVIF recorders, but the AcuSense search, smart events, two-way audio and easiest setup are at their best with a Hikvision AcuSense NVR. For the full feature set, pair it with a matching Hikvision recorder.
