The Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3449TM-AS-LED is a 4MP full-colour WizSense eyeball that keeps images in colour through the night.

Instead of infrared, it uses a warm-light LED (rated to 30m) so people, vehicles and clothing keep their true colours after dark, which makes footage easier to interpret than monochrome IR.

A 4MP sensor with a large aperture and 120dB WDR holds detail in low light and against backlight.

WizSense SMD Plus and perimeter protection classify movement as human or vehicle, so tripwire and intrusion alerts stay focused on real targets rather than animals or foliage.

A built-in microphone records on-site audio alongside the video, and the compact eyeball housing mounts neatly on a wall or ceiling.

The fixed 2.8mm lens gives a wide view for general coverage, so set the mounting position for the scene you want before installing.

Because it relies on warm light rather than infrared, the LED is on to keep colour at night, so consider light spill in bedroom-facing or neighbour-sensitive positions, or choose a dual-light model there.

It has a microphone but no speaker, so it does not support two-way talk, and it powers from 12V DC or PoE.

With a fixed 2.8mm lens, set the mounting height and direction for the area you want before installing, as the wide view cannot be zoomed afterwards.

Mind the warm light at night

Aim the camera so the warm light does not spill into bedrooms or onto neighbours; adjust the LED brightness, or choose a dual-light model for sensitive positions.

Power over PoE or 12V DC

Run a single PoE network cable from a switch or NVR, or provide a 12V DC supply where PoE is not available.

It uses a warm-light LED rated to 30m, not infrared. This keeps images in full colour after dark so you can make out clothing, vehicle and skin colours, which is harder with monochrome infrared. There are no IR LEDs on this model.

Will the warm light disturb neighbours or bedrooms?
Because it relies on warm light rather than infrared, the LED is on to keep colour at night, so it does cast a soft light.
