§ 01Overview

What the IPC-MFW5241T2-E3-ASE is

The Dahua IPC-MFW5241T2-E3-ASE is a triple-sight perimeter protection camera that places three independent 2MP sensors in one bullet housing, each with a different fixed lens: 3.6mm for the wide near zone, 12mm for the mid range and 25mm for long-range detail.

Together they cover close, mid and far distances along a fence line or approach from a single mounting point, with the long lens identifying detail well beyond a single-lens camera.

Eight IR LEDs light the scene to 100m, WizMind classifies humans and vehicles to cut nuisance alerts, and built-in dual microphones and a speaker support two-way audio.

The IP67 and IK10 metal housing, rated from -40C to +60C, suits airports, farms, industrial yards and critical-infrastructure perimeters.

Each sensor registers as a separate NVR channel, so one camera uses three channels.

What the IPC-MFW5241T2-E3-ASE features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

Two-Way Audio

Talk and listen in real time through the app — tell a courier where to leave a parcel, or speak to someone at the gate, whether you're home or away.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the IPC-MFW5241T2-E3-ASE

Depth coverage from one mount

Three layered focal lengths cover near, mid and far zones along a perimeter from a single position, closing the detail gap a single-lens camera leaves at distance.

Long-range detail

The 25mm sensor with 100m IR delivers usable detail far down a fence line or approach where a wide lens would lose it.

Fewer nuisance alerts

WizMind human and vehicle classification filters wind, animals and debris, keeping alarm volumes meaningful on exposed outdoor perimeters.

Built for the worst sites

IP67 sealing, IK10 impact resistance and a -40C to +60C range suit airports, utilities, coastal and industrial boundaries.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Extended fence lines

Layered focal lengths monitor close, mid and far zones along a boundary from one mast, removing the gaps a single lens leaves.

Unlit rural and industrial sites

Eight IR LEDs to 100m give the long sensor usable detail in total darkness across paddocks, yards and airside boundaries.

Critical infrastructure perimeters

IP67, IK10 and a wide temperature range suit utilities, data centres and airports where exposure and durability are non-negotiable.

Sites with few mounting points

Replacing three single-lens cameras with one housing reduces cabling, brackets and mounting positions on large properties.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

Plan three NVR channels per unit

Each camera uses three channel licences. On an 8-channel NVR you fit two units. Base channel and storage planning on three streams per camera.

02

Mount along the perimeter line

Aim the housing down the fence line or approach so the three focal lengths layer near to far. Use a solid pole or wall mount rated for the camera weight.

03

Power over PoE+ or ePoE

Use an 802.3at PoE+ or ePoE source for the long runs typical on perimeters; a 12V DC supply is an alternative at the camera.

04

Tune IR and rules per zone

Set IR area illumination and WizMind tripwire or intrusion rules for each zone, with alarms output through channel 1.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the IPC-MFW5241T2-E3-ASE

Q.01

How many NVR channels does the IPC-MFW5241T2-E3-ASE use?

Three. Although it runs over one cable, each of the three sensors registers as a separate channel on your recorder, so one camera uses three NVR channel licences. On an 8-channel NVR you can fit two of these cameras. Plan channel and storage capacity on three streams per unit.
Q.02

Do the three lenses point in different directions?

No. All three lenses face the same direction but at different focal lengths, layering wide, mid and long-range coverage in depth along one approach. It is built for fence lines and long perimeters rather than covering separate directions from a corner.
Q.03

How far does the night vision reach?

Eight IR LEDs provide area illumination up to 100m, matched to the long-range sensor so distant detail stays usable in total darkness. The wide and mid sensors cover shorter zones within that range.
Q.04

Does it have two-way audio?

Yes. The datasheet lists a built-in dual microphone and a built-in speaker, so it supports two-way audio for listening and speaking through a compatible recorder or app, alongside RCA audio in and out.
Q.05

Is it suitable for number plate or face capture?

It is built for perimeter detection and classification over distance, not dedicated plate or face capture. The 25mm long lens gives far-range detail for identifying activity, but for ANPR or close facial identification use a purpose-built camera.
Q.06

What power does it need?

It runs on PoE+ (802.3at), ePoE or 12V DC. ePoE and PoE+ suit the long cable runs common on large perimeters; confirm your switch or recorder supplies 802.3at on the connected port.
Q.07

Is it built for harsh outdoor sites?

Yes. The metal housing is IP67 against dust and water and IK10 against impact, and it is rated from -40C to +60C, suiting airports, farms, coastal and industrial perimeters.
Q.08

Will it work with a non-Dahua recorder?

It supports ONVIF, so the three channels record on compatible third-party platforms. Full WizMind event integration is deepest with a Dahua NVR; confirm your recorder handles multi-sensor cameras before deploying.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

01

Recorders and channel planning

Pair with a Dahua NVR such as the 16-channel NVR4216-16P, remembering each camera uses three channels, so plan capacity accordingly. For smaller sites the 8-channel NVR4108HS-8P holds two of these cameras.

02

Storage and PoE

Fit an 8TB or 10TB surveillance hard drive for the three-channel load, and distribute power with a Dahua PoE switch supplying PoE+ and Cat6 cable.

03

Mounting

Mount on a pole or wall facing down the perimeter; add a Dahua mount such as the PFB204W wall bracket where surface cabling is needed and confirm it suits this bullet.
