§ 01Overview

What the DHI-ITC237-PW6M-IRLZF1050-B is

The Dahua DHI-ITC237-PW6M-IRLZF1050-B is a 2MP ANPR camera for controlled access lanes.

A 1/1.8-inch GS-CMOS sensor with 96dB wide dynamic range captures sharp plate images against strong backlight and headlight glare, and a 10-50mm motorised zoom lens gives the reach and framing flexibility to cover a range of lane widths and distances from a fixed mount.

Onboard deep learning achieves a high vehicle capture rate and recognises plate number and colour, vehicle type, logo and colour, and vehicles with no plate, overlaying the data on each captured frame.

Two relay output channels let the camera trigger a boom gate or barrier directly, so a single camera can run a controlled lane end to end.

Six IR illuminators reach up to 25m for night capture, a built-in card slot with ANR keeps recording during a network drop, and the camera accepts 12V DC, 24V AC or PoE.

The IP67 housing suits exposed entries.

It is rated for access lanes up to 40km/h rather than open roads, has line-level audio terminals but no built-in microphone, and should be paired with a Dahua ANPR-capable recorder or platform to manage plate lists and event search.

What the DHI-ITC237-PW6M-IRLZF1050-B features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DHI-ITC237-PW6M-IRLZF1050-B

Runs the lane end to end

A 2-channel relay output triggers the boom gate directly on a recognised plate, often without a separate controller.

Clear plates in hard light

A 1/1.8" GS-CMOS sensor with 96dB WDR keeps plates legible against sun, shade and headlight glare at entries.

Keeps records through outages

ANR local storage recovers footage captured during a network drop, so access events are not lost.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Boom gate and barrier lanes

Triggers a boom arm on a recognised plate at a controlled lane, with the zoom lens framing the exact capture zone.

Multi-level car parks

Logs plates and vehicle attributes at entry and exit ramps, with WDR handling the contrast between dark decks and daylight.

Industrial and gated facilities

Builds a structured log of every vehicle entering or leaving, including delivery vehicle type and logo.

Residential estate gates

Automates plate-based access at community gates where approach speeds stay well under 40km/h.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

Frame the lane within IR range

Mount the camera for a near-perpendicular plate view and plan the capture zone within the 25m IR range. Set the 10-50mm zoom from the recorder to match the lane width and distance.

02

Power with 12V DC, 24V AC or PoE

Provide PoE from a capable switch, or a 12V DC or 24V AC supply, sized for the camera plus its IR illuminators at night.

03

Wire the barrier control

Connect the 2-channel relay output to your boom gate or barrier controller so a recognised plate triggers the gate to open.

04

Set ANPR rules and storage

Fit a local card for ANR, then configure plate recognition, allow and block lists on a Dahua ANPR-capable recorder or platform.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DHI-ITC237-PW6M-IRLZF1050-B

Q.01

How is it different from the short-range ITC215 model?

This model has a longer 10-50mm zoom lens and 25m of IR, so it covers longer or faster controlled lanes. The ITC215 is a short-range model with a wider, shorter lens for very close entries such as a single boom gate at low speed. Choose based on your lane length and approach speed.
Q.02

Can it trigger a boom gate by itself?

Yes. It has 2-channel relay outputs designed for connection to barrier gates and boom arms. Combined with onboard plate recognition, a single-lane installation can trigger the gate automatically on a recognised plate without a separate access controller.
Q.03

What vehicle details does it record beyond the plate?

Beyond the plate number and colour, the AI identifies vehicle type, logo and colour, and detects vehicles with no plate. These attributes are overlaid on each captured frame, which simplifies audit trails and access logs.
Q.04

Does it keep recording if the network drops?

Yes. A built-in card slot supports local storage, and ANR (Automatic Network Replenishment) automatically uploads footage captured during a network outage once the connection is restored, so events are not lost during a brief drop.
Q.05

Does it record audio?

No. It has line-level audio input and output terminals for external devices but no built-in microphone or speaker, so it does not capture on-site audio on its own.
Q.06

How is it powered?

It accepts 12V DC, 24V AC or PoE, drawing under 20W, which gives flexibility across new and retrofit lanes. Size the supply for the camera plus its IR illuminators when running at night.
Q.07

Is it suitable for Australian outdoor entries?

Yes. The IP67 housing seals against dust and water across a -30C to +65C range, suiting exposed gate and lane positions. Mount it for a near-perpendicular view of plates within the 25m IR range for reliable night capture.
