§ 01Overview

What the IPC-T651H-Z is

The HiLook IPC-T651H-Z is a 5MP motorised vari-focal turret camera designed for installs where you need to set the field of view precisely and may want to adjust it later.

Its 1/2.7 inch CMOS sensor captures 2560 by 1920 at up to 20 fps, with 120 dB true WDR to hold detail against bright windows and backlit doorways.

The motorised 2.8-12 mm lens is the practical headline: you zoom and focus it remotely from the HiLook or Hik-Connect app, web interface or NVR, so once the camera is mounted there is no climbing back up to widen or tighten the view.

Set it wide at 2.8 mm for a full-width room or entry, or zoomed to 12 mm to focus on a single doorway, gate or counter, and adjust any time the scene changes.

At night the camera switches to infrared, lighting the scene to about 30 m in black and white.

This is a value-tier camera: it uses basic motion detection rather than AcuSense deep-learning classification, and it does not have a built-in microphone, so there is no audio recording.

If you need human and vehicle AI or audio, step up to an AcuSense model such as the IPC-T363H-MU or IPC-T282H-MU.

It is an IP67-rated outdoor camera (IP67 weatherproofing; this model does not carry an IK vandal rating) that records to a microSD card up to 256 GB or to a HiLook or Hikvision NVR, and runs on PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC over a single cable.

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the IPC-T651H-Z

Frame the view without a ladder

The motorised 2.8-12 mm lens zooms and focuses remotely, so you set the exact field of view from the app or NVR after mounting and reframe any time the scene changes.

Handles tricky lighting

120 dB true WDR balances bright windows and dark corridors in the same frame, which suits building entries and reception areas with mixed light.

5MP with flexible coverage

A 5MP sensor and a vari-focal lens let one camera cover a wide area or zoom in on a specific door or plate, with 30 m IR for the full length at night.

Motorised zoom at a value price

Remote zoom usually costs more, but the HiLook value range keeps it affordable, backed by a 3-year warranty and a single-cable PoE install.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Building entrances and lobbies

Wide at 2.8 mm for a full-width view, or zoomed at 12 mm to focus on a specific door or counter, all adjusted remotely.

Corridors and hallways

Set the zoom to match the corridor length; 120 dB WDR handles fluorescent lighting and window glare.

Driveways and carports

Zoom in on the gate or number-plate area, with 30 m IR covering the full length after dark.

Storerooms and small warehouses

Adjust coverage from a wide overview to a narrow detail view as the space or stock layout changes, without revisiting the mount.

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

The IPC-T651H-Z turret camera, mounting screws and anchors, a waterproofing gland for the network connector and a quick start guide. A PoE switch or injector, network cable and microSD card are not included.

02

Installation requirements

Mount the camera to a wall or soffit that can carry it (about 595 g), ideally 2.5 to 3.5 m high, and run Cat5e or Cat6 (max 100 m) back to a PoE switch or NVR (IEEE 802.3af), or use a 12 VDC supply. Power up and wait about a minute, add the camera in the HiLook or Hik-Connect app by QR code or serial number, then set the motorised zoom and focus remotely through the app or NVR. Seal the connector with the supplied gland for outdoor use.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the IPC-T651H-Z

Q.01

Can I adjust the zoom and focus after the camera is mounted?

Yes. This is a motorised vari-focal camera, so you set the 2.8-12 mm lens remotely from the HiLook or Hik-Connect app, web interface or NVR. After it is on the wall you can widen or tighten the view and refocus without climbing back up, which is the main reason to choose this model over a fixed-lens turret.
Q.02

What is the resolution and frame rate?

It records up to 5MP at 2560 x 1920 at 20 fps. You can drop to 2560 x 1440 for 25 fps if you prefer smoother motion, with lower resolutions also available to save bandwidth. The official HiLook datasheet confirms the 2560 x 1920 maximum resolution.
Q.03

Does it have AcuSense AI detection?

No. The IPC-T651H-Z is a value-tier camera that uses basic motion detection rather than AcuSense deep-learning classification, so it does not separate people and vehicles from other movement. If you want human and vehicle AI to cut false alarms, step up to an AcuSense model such as the IPC-T363H-MU or the 8MP IPC-T282H-MU.
Q.04

Does it have a built-in microphone?

No, this model does not have a microphone, so it does not record audio. If you need audio, look at HiLook's MU-suffixed cameras, which include a built-in microphone, such as the IPC-T363H-MU or IPC-T282H-MU.
Q.05

How much microSD storage does it take?

The camera accepts a microSD, SDHC or SDXC card up to 256 GB for onboard recording, which suits a single camera or a backup to your NVR. For continuous multi-camera recording, connect it to a HiLook or Hikvision NVR.
Q.06

How is it powered?

It runs on PoE using the 802.3af standard (Class 3, up to about 10 W), so one Cat5e or Cat6 cable carries power and data from a switch or NVR, or on a 12 VDC supply (up to about 9 W). A single cable run keeps the install tidy.
Q.07

Is it weatherproof and is it vandal rated?

It carries an IP67 rating against dust and rain, so it is built for outdoor mounting under sun and wet weather. It does not carry an IK vandal-impact rating, so for areas where the camera is within reach and at risk of being struck, choose a model with a stated IK rating. Mounting it under an eave still helps reduce sun and glare.

03

Want AI or audio?

Step up to an AcuSense model with human and vehicle detection and a built-in microphone, such as the 6MP IPC-T363H-MU hybrid-light turret or the 8MP IPC-T282H-MU.
