§ 01Overview
What the DS-2DF8C835MHS-DELW is
The Hikvision DS-2DF8C835MHS-DELW is an 8 MP, 4K DarkFighterX TandemVu PTZ speed dome, and the TandemVu design is what sets it apart.
It carries two sensors: a fixed panoramic camera that always shows the whole scene, and a 35x optical zoom (7.4 to 259 mm) that closes in on detail.
With an ordinary PTZ, zooming in means losing sight of everything else; here the panoramic channel keeps the full picture while the zoom channel reads a face or a plate, so an operator never loses situational awareness during an incident.
Both channels use large 1/1.2" sensors with DarkFighterX low-light technology and 140 dB Wide Dynamic Range, so the camera holds detail in very low light and against harsh backlight.
Night supplement is hybrid: the panoramic channel can use white light to keep a colour overview, while the zoom channel reaches up to 300 m with infrared, where the image is black and white.
On-camera smart features include face capture, face comparison, vehicle detection with number-plate, model and colour recognition, and smart auto-tracking that follows a moving target.
300 presets with patrol and pattern scans automate a tour of fixed views, and the 360-degree pan covers every direction.
It is built for demanding, exposed sites.
A built-in wiper, heater and demist keep the long zoom usable in rain and cold, and the metal housing is rated IP67 against dust and water and IK10 against impact, with an operating range down to -40 degrees C.
(Some listings quote IP66 for this model; the official datasheet rates it IP67 / IK10.) This is a high-power camera that runs on Hi-PoE or a 36 VDC supply, not a standard NVR PoE port, and records both channels to a high-bandwidth Hikvision NVR.
Because TandemVu records two streams, size your recorder bandwidth and storage accordingly.

8MP Ultra HD
Even when a person or car is far down the driveway, you can zoom in and still recognise a face or read a number plate — detail that lower-resolution cameras lose.
IP67 Weatherproof

§ 04Why choose this
Built for the way you actually use the DS-2DF8C835MHS-DELW
4K detail at long range
8 MP and a 35x zoom let you identify a face or a plate far across a large site, with infrared to 300 m at night.
Colour overview, long-range night reach
The panoramic channel can hold a colour overview with white light while the zoom uses infrared for distance in the dark.
Built for tough sites
An IP67 / IK10 body with a wiper, heater and demist stands up to rain, cold and impact on exposed perimeters.
§ 05Where it fits
Right at home in these scenarios
Control rooms and city surveillance
Keep a panoramic overview of a precinct or square on screen while the zoom follows an incident, so nothing happens off-camera.
Airports, ports and stadiums
Watch a wide apron, quayside or concourse and zoom into detail without losing the surrounding context.
Large perimeters
Hold the whole boundary in the panoramic view and reach up to 300 m with the zoom and infrared on anyone who approaches.
Traffic and transport hubs
Read vehicles and plates with the zoom while the panoramic channel keeps the wider intersection or interchange in frame.
§ 06Setup
Installation & setup
In the box
Camera and mounting hardware with the quick start guide. A wall or pole bracket, Hi-PoE injector or 36VDC supply, microSD card and NVR are bought separately.
Mounting
Fit it high on a solid pole, wall bracket or corner with a clear line across the site, so both the panoramic and zoom channels have an open view. A rigid mount keeps the long zoom steady.
Power and network
This is a high-power PTZ. A standard NVR PoE port (802.3af/at) does not supply enough power, so use a Hi-PoE injector or a 36 VDC supply at the camera, bought separately, and run the video back to the recorder over the network.
Setup tips
Set preset positions and patrols for the zoom channel, enable face and vehicle detection and auto-tracking, and size your NVR for two 4K streams from one camera.

§ 09Bundles
Recommended packages
Record both streams on a high-bandwidth NVR
Send it to a high-capacity Hikvision NVR such as the 32-channel DS-7732NI-M4/24P or the 8-bay DS-9632NI-M8, and add a large surveillance drive like the 10 TB drive, since TandemVu records two channels.
Power it correctly
This is a high-power PTZ. A standard NVR PoE port (802.3af/at) does not supply enough power, so use a Hi-PoE injector or a 36 VDC supply at the camera, bought separately, and run the video back to the recorder over the network.
Pair it with a long-IR zoom dome
Add the 42x DS-2DF8442IXG1-ELWY where you need infrared out to 400 m at a second position.
