Installation Requirements

How is this different from the DS-2DE4A425IWG-E?
The IW-DE is the earlier revision. The IWG-E is the updated model with improved firmware. Core specs (25× zoom, 50 m IR, 4 MP) are essentially the same.
Q.02
Does it need PoE+?
Yes. The PTZ motor draws up to 24 W. Standard PoE (15 W) is not enough.
Q.03
Does it have a microphone?
Audio input and output ports for external devices. No built-in mic on the base model.
Q.04
Can it read number plates?
At full zoom (120 mm) you can read plates from about 50–80 m in good light. Not a dedicated ANPR camera but useful for general identification.
