The Hikvision DS-2CD2686G2-IZSU/SL is an 8MP 4K AcuSense varifocal bullet camera built for sites that need both high-detail 4K imaging and active deterrence. It records 8MP (3840 x 2160), so you can capture identification-grade detail across a wide area, and its motorised 2.8-12mm varifocal lens is adjusted remotely through the web interface or iVMS-4200, which means you frame the exact field of view without climbing back up to the camera.

AcuSense deep learning classifies people and vehicles, so the LiveGuard strobe light and audio alarm only fire on real targets rather than animals or weather, and you choose which events trigger them. Built-in two-way audio through a microphone and speaker lets you challenge an intruder live from your phone. DarkFighter low-light processing and 120dB true WDR keep the image clear at dusk and against backlight, and Smart Supplement Light adjusts the 60m infrared to avoid over-exposing nearer subjects.

The aluminium-alloy housing is IP66 weatherproof and IK10 vandal-resistant for exposed and reachable mounts, and the camera runs over PoE+ (802.3at) or 12V DC. It takes a microSD card up to 256GB for on-board recording and works with Hikvision AcuSense NVRs and Hik-Connect. It is normally installed by a security or cabling technician.

Installation & setup

  1. What it is

    An 8MP 4K AcuSense varifocal bullet with a motorised 2.8-12mm lens, LiveGuard strobe and audio alarm, and two-way audio.

  2. Power and cabling

    It needs PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) and draws up to 18W, so confirm the switch or NVR delivers Class 4 PoE+ on that port, or use a 12V DC supply.

  3. Framing the lens

    After mounting, zoom and focus the motorised lens remotely through the web interface or iVMS-4200, so you set the view without re-accessing the camera.

  4. Setup

    In Australia a network camera is usually fitted by a licensed security installer or a competent IT/cabling technician, who runs the Cat5e/6 cable, terminates the RJ45, mounts the camera and adds it to the NVR or app. Add it in Hik-Connect or your NVR, then set human/vehicle zones and link the strobe and audio to intrusion or line-crossing events.
