§ 01Overview

What the DS-2XS6A46G1-P-IZS-4G-32MM is

The Hikvision DS-2XS6A46G1-P-IZS-4G is a 4 MP solar-powered 4G ANPR bullet supplied as a complete off-grid kit.

It is made for places with no mains power and no network cable: rural gates, remote yards, construction sites, car park entries and access roads.

A 4G modem with a Micro SIM sends footage and alerts over mobile data, so the camera runs on its own with nothing but sunlight and a data plan.

Its main job is reading number plates.

On-board deep learning detects vehicles and recognises plates, holding allow and block lists of up to 10,000 records, which suits a single lane at a gate or driveway where you want a log of every vehicle in and out.

This version has a motorised 8 to 32 mm zoom lens for reaching across a lane or up an approach road, and a 4 MP sensor with 120 dB Wide Dynamic Range to cope with headlight glare and bright sky.

At night infrared reaches up to 50 m, so the night image is black and white.

Footage can be stored on a microSD card in the camera and viewed remotely over 4G through Hik-Connect.

Battery management protects the cell in heat and cold and includes low-battery sleep and remote wake.

The metal camera is rated IP66 and the system resists strong wind.

Plan for clear sky on the panel and a data plan on the SIM; in long spells of heavy cloud the battery does the work, so position the panel for the best sun.

For a single-lane plate-capture point off the grid, it removes the cost of trenching power and network.

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

4MP Ultra HD

4MP captures roughly twice the detail of standard 1080p.

50m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared sees in total darkness up to around 50m — good for longer driveways, car parks and wider properties. People and vehicles stay visible well beyond the reach of a porch light.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DS-2XS6A46G1-P-IZS-4G-32MM

Truly off-grid

An 80 W panel, a 360 Wh battery and 4G let it run with no mains power and no network cable.

Logs every vehicle

On-board number-plate recognition records plates at a gate or lane with allow and block lists.

Reach down a lane

A motorised 8 to 32 mm zoom frames plates across a lane or up an approach road.

View it anywhere

4G and Hik-Connect give live viewing, alerts and remote review from your phone.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Rural and farm gates

Log every vehicle in and out of a property entrance with no power or cabling on site.

Construction sites

Drop in plate capture at a temporary entrance and move it as the job changes.

Remote yards and depots

Watch an access road or gate where trenching power and fibre is not worth it.

Car park entries

Read plates at a single-lane entry and keep a searchable log of arrivals.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

The solar 4G ANPR Camera: the DS-2XS6A46G1-P-IZS-4G camera. A Micro SIM with a data plan and a microSD card are supplied separately.

02

Installation requirements

Mount the camera to view a single lane with vehicles approaching fairly straight on, and fit the solar panel where it gets strong, unobstructed sun through the day. Insert the SIM and microSD, frame the plate area with the motorised zoom, and set it up in Hik-Connect. No mains power or network cable is needed.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DS-2XS6A46G1-P-IZS-4G-32MM

Q.01

Does it really run with no power or network?

Yes. The kit includes an 80 W solar panel and a 360 Wh lithium battery to power the camera, and a 4G modem to send footage over mobile data. So you do not need mains power or a network cable, only sunlight on the panel and a data SIM.
Q.02

What SIM and data does it need?

It takes a Micro SIM on a 4G mobile network. Choose a data plan that suits how much you view and upload, because live viewing and clip uploads use mobile data. Recording to the microSD card happens locally and does not use data.
Q.03

How long does the battery last without sun?

Real figures depend on how much it records and uploads and how cold it is, so in long spells of heavy cloud position the panel for the best possible sun.
Q.04

What is ANPR and how well does it work?

ANPR is automatic number-plate recognition: the camera reads vehicle plates and can match them against allow and block lists of up to 10,000 records. It works best on a single lane where vehicles pass straight on, such as a gate or driveway, rather than across a wide multi-lane area.
Q.05

Does it record in colour at night?

No. It uses infrared up to 50 m at night, so the night image is black and white. The infrared and the 8 to 32 mm zoom are chosen to capture plates clearly in the dark rather than to show a colour scene.
Q.06

Where should I aim it?

Point it down a single lane or driveway so vehicles approach the camera fairly straight on, and use the motorised zoom to frame the plate area. Mount it where the solar panel gets good sun through the day for reliable charging.
Q.07

Can I view it on my phone?

Yes. It connects through Hik-Connect over 4G, so you can view live footage, get alerts and review captures remotely. Keep in mind that live viewing draws on the mobile data plan.
Q.08

Is it suitable for outdoors in Australia?

Yes. The camera is rated IP66 against dust and water and the system resists strong wind, and Australian sun suits solar charging well. Allow for a few overcast days by giving the panel a clear, north-facing aspect.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

01

Add wider remote coverage

Pair plate capture with a wide scene view using another off-grid camera such as the DS-2XS2T41G1-ID/4G 4G bullet, so you log plates and watch the surrounding area on the same site.

02

Cover a large remote area too

For a remote site that needs a moving overview as well, the 4G DS-2DE5425IW-G4/G PTZ pans and zooms over a wide area on its own mobile connection.

03

Plan the SIM and storage

Fit a Micro SIM on a data plan sized for your viewing and uploads, and a microSD card for local recording, so footage is kept on site and available over 4G.
