01Overview

What the XNP-C9253R is

The Hanwha XNP-C9253R is an 8MP 4K AI PTZ engineered for large outdoor sites, sprawling campuses, and critical infrastructure perimeters where standard PTZs leave coverage or identification gaps.

A 25x optical zoom (5-125mm) combined with 200m infrared illumination lets operators shift instantly from wide-area monitoring to close-range identification without moving the mount.

AI person/vehicle detection plus intelligent auto-tracking and a full IVA suite (intrusion, loitering, line crossing, directional) moves the deployment beyond passive recording into active perimeter management.

Gyro digital stabilisation preserves image integrity on pole and rooftop installations near vibration sources.

Dual microSD slots provide redundant onboard edge recording — meaningful on critical and geographically remote sites where a single card failure would otherwise lose footage.

IP66 + IK10 + NEMA 4X housing plus PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt) power feed.

Requires PoE++ compliant switch or dedicated injector; standard PoE will not run this camera.

For 6MP coverage at lower storage cost, the XNP-C8253R sibling is the alternative.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the XNP-C9253R

4K Detail at 25x Optical Zoom

8MP resolution combined with 25x optical zoom (5-125mm) delivers identification-grade detail across the entire zoom range — meaningful when incident review requires face or plate identification from wide-area footage or extended-distance close-up.

Dual microSD for Redundant Edge Recording

Two cards receive the same stream so a single card failure doesn't lose critical footage — meaningful on remote/critical infrastructure where card replacement is expensive.

Full IVA + Auto-Tracking

Person/vehicle AI plus IVA suite (intrusion, loitering, line crossing, directional) plus intelligent auto-tracking — active perimeter management, not just passive recording.

PoE++ for High-Power Feature Set

Higher power class supports the combination of 4K sensor, 25x lens motor, 200m IR array, and gyro stabilisation without power constraints. Verify PoE++ switch or injector before commissioning.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Industrial Site Perimeters

Factories, refineries, and mining facilities with long open fence lines benefit from the 25x zoom and 200m IR — a single camera covers what would otherwise need many fixed cameras, with 4K detail supporting post-event evidence workflows.

Critical Infrastructure Monitoring

Substations, water treatment facilities, telecommunications sites — dual microSD redundancy, IK10 impact resistance, and IVA analytics support unattended monitoring of geographically distributed critical assets.

Sprawling Campus and Corporate Property

4K identification-grade detail plus auto-tracking supports monitoring of large corporate campuses, university grounds, and shopping centre precincts from limited camera positions.

Australian Coastal and Industrial Environments

NEMA 4X corrosion resistance + full IP66/IK10 support long-term deployment across coastal humidity and industrial-chemical exposure where standard commercial PTZ housings degrade within 2-3 years.

06Setup

Installation & setup

  1. What is in the Box

    • Hanwha XNP-C9253R PTZ Camera x 1
    • Mounting Bracket & Hardware x 1 set
    • Quick Start Guide x 1

  2. Installation Requirements

    • Power: PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt Type 3 or 4) — higher class than PoE+ (802.3at). Verify switch or dedicated injector compliance BEFORE install; standard PoE will not power the camera reliably.
    • Mounting: pole, wall, or rooftop — outdoor PTZ housing.
    • Storage: two microSD cards for redundant edge recording (up to configured capacity per card).
    • Positioning: allow unobstructed 360° pan sweep.

  3. App/Software Setup

    • Access via web viewer, or add to Hanwha Wisenet WAVE or SSM software.
    • Configure preset positions and patrol routes.
    • Configure IVA analytics: intrusion zones, virtual lines, loitering dwell times.
    • Enable dual microSD as redundant recording target — verify both cards recording after commissioning.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the XNP-C9253R

Q.01

Q: How is this different from the XNP-C8253R sibling?
A: The C9253R is 8MP/4K; the C8253R is 6MP. Both share 25x optical zoom and 200m IR. Additions on C9253R: 4K resolution for post-event identification detail, dual microSD slots for redundant edge recording. Requires PoE++ (802.3bt) vs standard PoE. Pick C9253R when 4K + redundancy matter; pick C8253R when 6MP and single-card storage are acceptable.
Q.02

Q: What does dual microSD do?
A: Both cards receive the same stream — redundant edge recording so a single card failure doesn't lose footage. Practical impact on critical infrastructure and remote sites where card replacement is expensive or time-consuming.
Q.03

Q: Do I need PoE++ specifically?
A: Yes — the XNP-C9253R requires PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt Type 3 or 4) rather than standard PoE (802.3af) or PoE+ (802.3at). Standard PoE will not deliver enough power for the 4K sensor + 25x lens motor + 200m IR array + gyro stabilisation combination. Verify switch or dedicated injector compliance before commissioning.
Q.04

Q: What AI events can this detect?
A: Person and vehicle detection with intelligent auto-tracking, plus full IVA analytics: intrusion into a defined zone, loitering (subjects remaining beyond a configurable dwell time), line crossing (with direction), and directional detection. Configure through web viewer or Wisenet WAVE.
Q.05

Q: What field of view can I dial?
A: The 5-125mm motorised varifocal lens gives 25x optical zoom, with 360° endless pan and -20° to 90° tilt. Combined, the PTZ covers almost all of its surroundings and can zoom to identification-grade detail on distant targets.
Q.06

Q: What's the IR range?
A: Up to 200m — appropriate for airport aprons, long industrial fence-lines, and highway-adjacent perimeters where standard IR falls short.
Q.07

Q: Is the housing suitable for Australian coastal conditions?
A: Yes — NEMA 4X corrosion resistance plus IP66 water jets plus IK10 impact resistance handle coastal humidity, industrial-chemical exposure, and marine environments.
Q.08

Q: Can this integrate with third-party VMS?
A: Yes — supports ONVIF PTZ profile for standard integration. For 4K stream capacity, verify VMS/NVR bandwidth headroom and dual microSD recording integrity before large rollouts.
