§ 01Overview

What the DH-SD49425XB-HNR-G is

The Dahua DH-SD49425XB-HNR-G is a 4MP 25x PTZ camera with built-in 4G LTE, made for remote farms, rural properties and critical-infrastructure sites where no fixed internet is available.

A 4.8-120mm motorised zoom with Starlight imaging and IR to 100m covers wide, open scenes, while SMD Plus and perimeter protection classify humans and vehicles to reduce nuisance alerts.

It transmits over the mobile network with a SIM, or over a wired RJ45 link where a network exists, and powers from PoE+ or 12V DC.

An IP66 housing with TVS 6000V surge protection, rated from -40C to +70C, suits exposed poles and perimeter masts.

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

4MP Ultra HD

4MP captures roughly twice the detail of standard 1080p.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DH-SD49425XB-HNR-G

Built for no-internet sites

Built-in 4G LTE lets this PTZ work on remote farms, rural blocks and infrastructure sites with no fixed line, controlled remotely through the DMSS app.

One camera covers a wide area

25x optical zoom with 360 endless pan lets a single unit sweep a large site and zoom into a gate, vehicle or person, reducing the number of fixed cameras needed.

Clear long-range night view

Starlight imaging and 100m IR with adaptive Smart IR keep distant detail usable across open sites in near-dark conditions.

Flexible power and wiring

PoE+ or 12V DC power and an RJ45 wired option alongside 4G give installers flexibility across remote and semi-connected sites.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Remote farms and rural properties

4G removes the need for fixed broadband, covering paddocks, laneways and remote gates with DMSS remote viewing.

Critical infrastructure perimeters

25x zoom and perimeter analytics monitor utilities, pipelines and remote compounds where cabling a network is impractical.

Construction and temporary sites

Steerable PTZ coverage suits sites whose layout changes often and where a permanent network is not available.

Wide-area open sites

One pole-mounted PTZ sweeps yards, depots and boundaries that would otherwise need several fixed cameras.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

Confirm 4G coverage first

Performance depends on carrier signal at the site. Check coverage and supported LTE bands with your carrier at the exact mounting position before purchase; weak signal affects live view and alerts.

02

Power over PoE+ or 12V DC

Use an 802.3at PoE+ source or a 12V DC, 3A supply rated for the roughly 22.5W draw with IR on. Standard 802.3af is not sufficient.

03

Mount for a large PTZ

At around 3kg it needs solid mounting hardware. Use a Dahua-compatible pole or wall bracket and junction box; have it installed professionally for stability and weather sealing.

04

Set presets and rules

Configure perimeter tripwire and intrusion rules and map presets and tours for the scene, allowing for the IR range and any blind spots.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DH-SD49425XB-HNR-G

Q.01

Does the SD49425XB-HNR-G need a fixed internet connection?

No. It has built-in 4G LTE, so with a compatible SIM and an active data plan it transmits over the mobile network for live view, alerts and DMSS app access. An RJ45 wired option is also available where a network already exists.
Q.02

What SIM and data plan does it need?

It needs a SIM matching the supported LTE bands (FDD Band 1/2/3/4/7) and a data plan sized for your usage. Data use depends on resolution, streaming frequency and event volume. Confirm carrier band coverage at the exact site before installing, as signal strength affects live view and alerts.
Q.03

Is this 4G model powered over PoE?

Yes. Unlike some 4G PTZ models, this camera supports PoE+ (802.3at) as well as a 12V DC, 3A supply. It draws up to about 22.5W with IR on, so use a PoE+ source rather than standard 802.3af.
Q.04

How far does it see at night?

Infrared reaches up to 100m across four LEDs with adaptive Smart IR, giving long-range black-and-white coverage, while the Starlight sensor holds colour detail in low light before IR engages.
Q.05

Does it have a microphone or speaker?

No. It provides line audio in and out for external devices, but no built-in microphone or speaker, so audio needs external hardware if required.
Q.06

What AI detection does it run?

It runs SMD Plus and perimeter protection with tripwire and intrusion, classifying humans and vehicles and filtering false alarms from animals, foliage and lighting, plus face detection and smart capture.
Q.07

Can it keep recording if the 4G drops?

Yes. A microSD card up to 256GB provides on-camera recording so footage continues during network interruptions, with NAS and FTP as additional options.
Q.08

Is it rated against impact?

The datasheet rates this model IP66 against dust and water jets, with TVS 6000V surge protection, but it does not list an IK impact rating, so we do not claim vandal resistance.
