§ 01Overview

What the IPC-T641H-Z is

The HiLook IPC-T641H-Z is the turret version of HiLook's 4 MP motorised camera, and it pairs the same remote zoom convenience with the compact, low-profile shape that many installers prefer.

The motorised 2.8 to 12 mm lens is set from a web browser or app after fitting, and the three-axis turret mount pans, tilts and rotates, so you can aim it almost anywhere on a wall or ceiling without changing the housing.

For image quality it matches its bullet sibling.

The 1/3" 4 MP sensor records 2560 x 1440 at up to 20 fps, 120 dB true WDR balances strong backlight, and 3D digital noise reduction keeps the picture clean.

At night, 30 metre 850 nm infrared lights the scene; this is an infrared camera, so the night image is black and white rather than the full colour of a ColorVu model.

H.265+ compression keeps storage and bandwidth efficient.

Like the rest of the HiLook Value range it is a clean, dependable camera rather than an AI or audio unit.

It records to a microSD card up to 128 GB or to a network recorder, and supports ONVIF and ISAPI for compatibility with most third-party NVRs alongside HiLook and Hikvision recorders.

It does not include AcuSense human and vehicle classification, and it has no built-in microphone or speaker.

The turret body is rated IP67 and runs on PoE (802.3af), so it installs outdoors on a single cable and is easy to point exactly where you need it.

What the IPC-T641H-Z features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

4MP Ultra HD

4MP captures roughly twice the detail of standard 1080p.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the IPC-T641H-Z

Aim it anywhere, zoom remotely

A three-axis turret plus a motorised 2.8 to 12 mm lens lets you point and frame the view precisely from a browser, with no ladder trips.

Clear detail for the price

A 4 MP sensor with 120 dB true WDR and 3D noise reduction keeps faces and detail readable against backlight and in low light.

Works with what you have

ONVIF and ISAPI support and microSD or NAS recording let it fit a single-camera setup or any HiLook, Hikvision or third-party NVR.

Compact and weatherproof

A low-profile IP67 metal turret on a single PoE cable is quick to install and discreet outdoors.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Home entrances and eaves

A tidy turret under an eave covering a door or path, aimed exactly with the three-axis mount.

Retail and offices

Discreet indoor or sheltered coverage of entries, tills and corridors with adjustable zoom.

Car parks and yards

Flexible-zoom coverage of bays and gates on a value budget across multiple cameras.

Multi-site property

A dependable ONVIF turret for installs that reuse existing recorders.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

In the box

Motorised turret camera, mounting base and the printed guide. A wall or pole bracket or junction box is selected to suit the position and bought separately.

02

Power and cabling

Run a single network cable for PoE (802.3af), or use 12 VDC. Keep the Ethernet run within standard limits to the switch or recorder.

03

Mounting

Fix the base to a solid wall or ceiling, then use the three-axis movement to pan, tilt and rotate the lens onto the target, and seal the cable entry.

04

Setup

Add the camera in the recorder or app, set the motorised zoom and focus, and configure motion, region-of-interest and night settings.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the IPC-T641H-Z

Q.01

Does it use a standard PoE switch or do I need a special HiLook NVR?

It supports standard 802.3af PoE, so it powers up from any 802.3af switch or injector. You do not need a HiLook NVR to run it, though pairing it with a HiLook or Hikvision recorder gives the smoothest setup and full features such as remote playback and motion alerts.
Q.02

Is the motorised zoom adjusted remotely, or do I climb back up after mounting?

Remotely. The zoom and focus are motorised and set from a web browser, the HiLook app or the recorder, so once the turret is mounted you frame and focus without getting back on the ladder. That convenience is the main reason to choose this over a fixed-lens turret.
Q.03

Is it legal to use in Australia?

Yes, for homes and businesses. The Australian restriction applies only to federal and some state government and defence premises that were asked to remove certain equipment. Private and commercial users can legally buy and use the IPC-T641H-Z.
Q.04

Can it record without an NVR?

Yes. It takes a microSD card up to 128 GB for on-board recording. For continuous recording across several cameras with easy playback, a HiLook or Hikvision NVR is the better choice, but SD-only recording is fine for a single turret.
Q.05

Does it record colour video at night?

No. It uses 850 nm infrared to about 30 metres, so the night image is black and white. It does not have a white-light supplement, so for full-colour night images you would choose a ColorVu camera instead.
Q.06

Does it filter people and vehicles to reduce false alarms?

It offers standard motion detection with region-of-interest settings, but not the AcuSense deep-learning human and vehicle classification of the higher ranges. For human and vehicle filtering, step up to an AcuSense turret.
Q.07

Why pick a turret over a bullet?

A turret has a compact, low-profile shape that is harder to tamper with and easy to aim thanks to its three-axis mount, and it avoids the spider-web reflection issue of some domes. The bullet sibling, the IPC-B640H-Z, suits longer wall throws and comes with an integrated sun shield.
