The Hikvision DS-2DF8C425MHS-DELW is a long-range DarkFighterX speed dome made to watch wide perimeters, yards, car parks and public spaces from a single moving camera.

A motorised 5.9-147.5 mm lens gives 25x optical zoom, so you can pull a distant face or number plate in close, while continuous 360° pan and -20° to 90° tilt let you or the analytics steer the view anywhere across the scene.

Its strength is seeing in the dark over distance.

The dual-sensor DarkFighterX design and an F1.6 aperture capture clean, low-noise images in near-darkness, and Smart Hybrid Light reaches up to 300 m with infrared plus a supplementary white-light option for the longest sight lines.

AcuSense deep-learning analytics detect and auto-track human and vehicle targets, and the camera also captures faces and reads number plates (ANPR) for traffic and access tasks.

A 140 dB WDR, EIS image stabilisation and optical defog keep footage usable against glare, vibration on a high pole and weather.

This is a DarkFighterX low-light camera, not a 24/7 ColorVu camera - it gives excellent low-light images and uses infrared and supplementary white light at night, rather than full colour around the clock.

And it records audio only through a line-in connection: it has no built-in microphone or speaker, so it is not a talk-back camera on its own.

It is a large 8-inch dome that draws real power, so plan a Hi-PoE source or 36 VDC supply and a sturdy mount, and record it to a Hikvision AcuSense NVR.

Mount it on a sturdy wall bracket, pole or pendant over the area to cover, allowing for its size and weight. Provide a Hi-PoE source or 36 VDC supply, connect the network, set the presets, patrols and AcuSense auto-tracking and ANPR rules in the software, and add it to a Hikvision AcuSense NVR for recording and event search.
