The Hikvision DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL is a 4 MP Ultra-series network speed dome built for large, demanding sites such as airports, ports, industrial yards and council precincts.
Its 36x optical zoom (6 to 216 mm) reaches a long way down a perimeter or runway, and a 360 degree endless pan with fast, accurate movement lets it cover a wide area and snap to presets or 3D-positioning clicks.
A built-in gyroscope assists electronic image stabilisation, which keeps the long-zoom image steady on a high pole or in wind.
This is a deep-learning camera, not just a zoom lens.
It detects and classifies people, faces and vehicles, runs perimeter rules such as line crossing and intrusion that can alarm on a chosen target type, and supports auto-tracking that locks onto a person or vehicle and follows it.
That target classification cuts the false alarms that weather and animals cause, and it makes the camera proactive rather than a passive recorder.
DarkFighter 2.0 holds usable colour in low light, but in darkness it uses infrared up to 300 m, so the long-range night image is black and white.
It carries 150 dB Wide Dynamic Range, optical defog and a metal housing rated IP67 and IK10 for weather and impact, and operates across a wide temperature range.
It is powered by PoE (802.3bt) or 36 VDC, which is a higher class than standard PoE, so check your switch, injector or recorder can supply it.
Audio is via a line-in and line-out for external devices rather than a built-in microphone.
