The Hikvision DS-2DE4A204IW-DE is a compact 2 MP outdoor PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera.

Unlike a fixed camera, it rotates a full 360 degrees continuously, tilts, and zooms in with a 4x optical lens (2.8 to 12 mm), so one unit can patrol a wide area on a schedule and then zoom in on a person or vehicle when needed.

You can drive it live from the app or recorder, set up to 300 preset positions, and run patrols and patterns between points of interest.

The 2 MP sensor records smooth 1080p, and DarkFighter low-light technology keeps the image usable as light fades; in darkness the camera switches to infrared up to 50 m, so the night image is black and white rather than colour.

This is a metal mini PTZ rated IP66 for dust and water, powered by PoE+ (802.3at) or 12 VDC.

It suits a yard, car park or building corner where you want both wide coverage and the ability to zoom in, rather than a fixed view.

One DS-2DE4A204IW-DE PTZ camera with mounting hardware and a quick guide. The PoE+ switch or NVR, network cable, microSD card and any wall or pole bracket are supplied separately.

Mount it on a wall, corner or pole with a clear view of the area, and run one network cable back to a PoE+ (802.3at) source or use 12 VDC. Set the presets, patrols and home position in the software, and record it to a Hikvision NVR.
