§ 01Overview

What the iDS-9664NXI-I16 is

The Hikvision iDS-9664NXI-M16/X is a 64-channel 3U DeepinMind network video recorder with sixteen drive bays and two deep-learning engines, made for large Australian deployments such as enterprise campuses, transport hubs and critical infrastructure.

It runs the AI itself: facial recognition across up to 32 libraries (100,000 list images and up to 10 million face captures), perimeter protection, video structuralization and falling-object detection that flags items thrown from a building or height. Two engines split the analytics load so detection and search stay responsive across 64 channels at resolutions up to 32MP, with 400 Mbps of incoming bandwidth and H.265+ compression.

Sixteen SATA bays run RAID 0/1/5/6/10 for data protection on a system this size, and HDMI1 outputs up to 8K for a control-room display. This is a back-end recorder with no built-in PoE, so cameras are powered from separate switches, and it is supplied without hard drives.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the iDS-9664NXI-I16

AI runs on the recorder

Facial recognition, perimeter protection and falling-object detection run on the NVR, so you get smart alerts even with cameras that lack their own analytics.

Falling-object detection

Built-in throwing-from-building detection suits apartment towers, stairwells and high-rise sites where items dropped from height are a safety risk.

Sixteen bays of RAID storage

Sixteen SATA bays with RAID 0/1/5/6/10 give large, redundant storage so a single drive failure need not lose footage.

Two engines for 64 cameras

Dual deep-learning engines share the workload, keeping face search and structuralization responsive across a 64-camera system.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

High-rise and apartments

Falling-object detection plus perimeter protection for towers, stairwells and shared areas.

Enterprise and corporate campuses

Centralise 64 cameras with face search and video structuralization across buildings and car parks.

Transport and logistics hubs

Track people and vehicles across terminals, yards and docks with RAID-protected storage.

Critical infrastructure

High-accuracy detection and 8K output for utilities, government and high-security sites.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

In the box

iDS-9664NXI-M16/X recorder, power cable, mouse and rack-mount hardware. Hard drives are not included.

02

Powering cameras

This recorder has no built-in PoE. Power all cameras from separate switches sized to a 64-camera system, then add them over the dual network ports.

03

Storage and RAID

Fit up to sixteen surveillance or enterprise SATA drives, then configure RAID 0/1/5/6/10 from the storage menu.

04

AI setup

Build face libraries (up to 32) and enable perimeter protection, video structuralization and falling-object detection for on-recorder analytics.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the iDS-9664NXI-I16

Q.01

How many cameras can the iDS-9664NXI-M16/X record?

Up to 64 IP cameras at resolutions up to 32MP, with 400 Mbps of incoming bandwidth.
Q.02

Does it come with hard drives?

No. It is supplied without hard drives. It has sixteen SATA bays, which can be configured in a RAID array.
Q.03

Does this NVR have built-in PoE ports?

No. It is a back-end recorder, so cameras are powered from separate switches and added over the dual network ports.
Q.04

What AI does the recorder run itself?

Facial recognition, perimeter protection, video structuralization and falling-object (throwing-from-building) detection, run by two deep-learning engines.
Q.05

What is falling-object detection used for?

It flags items thrown or dropped from a building or height, which suits apartment towers, stairwells and high-rise sites where this is a safety risk.
Q.06

Which RAID modes does it support?
