§ 01Overview

What the iDS-9664NXI-m8-X is

The Hikvision iDS-9664NXI-M8/X is a 64-channel DeepinMind network video recorder with eight drive bays and two deep-learning engines, made for large Australian sites such as campuses, transport hubs and industrial complexes.

It runs the AI itself: facial recognition across up to 32 libraries (100,000 list images and up to 10 million face captures), perimeter protection, video structuralization and AcuSearch, which can scan up to 691,200 targets a day for fast investigation. It connects up to 64 cameras at resolutions up to 32MP, with 400 Mbps of incoming bandwidth and H.265+ compression.

Eight SATA bays accept drives up to 16TB each (128TB total) and run RAID 0/1/5/6/10 for data protection. HDMI1 outputs up to 8K for a control-room display. This is a back-end recorder with no built-in PoE, so cameras are powered from separate switches, and it is supplied without hard drives so you size storage to your retention.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the iDS-9664NXI-m8-X

AI runs on the recorder

Facial recognition, perimeter protection and AcuSearch run on the NVR itself, so you get smart alerts and fast search even with cameras that do not do their own analytics.

Find evidence fast

AcuSearch scans up to 691,200 targets a day, so investigators jump straight to the person or vehicle they need instead of watching hours of footage.

Scale to 64 cameras

One recorder centralises up to 64 cameras at up to 32MP across a large campus or precinct, replacing several smaller NVRs.

RAID-protected storage

Eight SATA bays of up to 16TB each give up to 128TB with RAID 0/1/5/6/10, so a single drive failure need not lose footage.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Campuses and enterprise

Centralise cameras from many buildings with watch-list face alerts and rapid AcuSearch retrieval.

Transport and logistics hubs

Track people and vehicles across terminals, yards and docks from one control room.

Retail complexes and malls

Resolve incidents quickly across entries, floors and car parks with structured search.

Critical infrastructure

High-accuracy detection and 8K output for utilities, government and high-security sites.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

In the box

iDS-9664NXI-M8/X recorder, power cable, mouse and rack-mount hardware. Hard drives are not included.

03

Storage and RAID

Fit up to eight surveillance or enterprise SATA drives (up to 16TB each), then configure RAID 0/1/5/6/10 from the storage menu.

04

AI setup

Build face libraries (up to 32) and enable perimeter protection, video structuralization and AcuSearch for on-recorder analytics.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the iDS-9664NXI-m8-X

Q.01

How many cameras can the iDS-9664NXI-M8/X record?

Up to 64 IP cameras at resolutions up to 32MP, with 400 Mbps of incoming bandwidth.
Q.02

Does it come with hard drives?

No. It is supplied without hard drives. It has eight SATA bays accepting up to 16TB per drive, for up to 128TB total.
Q.03

Does this NVR have built-in PoE ports?

No. It is a back-end recorder, so cameras are powered from separate switches and added over the network ports.
Q.04

What AI does the recorder run itself?

Facial recognition, perimeter protection, video structuralization and AcuSearch, run by two deep-learning engines on the recorder.
Q.05

What is AcuSearch and how fast is it?

AcuSearch lets you find a specific person or vehicle by attributes; on this model it scans up to 691,200 targets a day, so investigations skip the timeline scrubbing.
Q.06

Can it output 8K video?

Yes. HDMI1 outputs up to 8K, with a second HDMI and dual VGA outputs for additional monitors.
