The Hikvision DS-2CD6924G0-IHS is a PanoVu multi-sensor camera that replaces a row of separate cameras with one panoramic unit.

Four 2.8 mm lenses on 1/1.8" sensors are stitched into a single 180° image at up to 3840 x 2160, giving you a wide, uninterrupted view of a forecourt, car park, warehouse aisle or building frontage without the blind spots you get between individually aimed cameras.

It is built for real outdoor conditions.

DarkFighter imaging holds detail in low light, four infrared LEDs add up to 20 m of night reach, and a built-in heater lets it start in the cold.

The housing is IP67 against dust and heavy rain and IK10 against impact.

People density analytics in panorama mode help you understand how busy an area is, and H.265+ compression keeps the bandwidth and storage of a high-resolution multi-sensor stream manageable.

Two practical notes.

The infrared reaches 20 m, so it is designed for wide-area overview rather than long-distance identification - pair it with a zoom or bullet camera where you need to read a face or plate at range.

And it records audio only through a line-in connection, with no built-in microphone or speaker.

It is a heavy 8-inch unit that runs on 802.3at PoE or 12 VDC, so fit a sturdy mount and a PoE source rated for it, and allow for the higher bandwidth of a four-sensor camera on your NVR.

One DS-2CD6924G0-IHS 8MP PanoVu panoramic camera with mounting hardware and documentation. The PoE switch or NVR, network cable, microSD card and any bracket are supplied separately.

Installation requirements

Mount it on a sturdy wall, soffit, ceiling or pole at a height that takes in the full width you want, and aim the assembly to centre the 180 degree view. Run a single network cable to an 802.3at PoE source or NVR, fit a microSD card if you want on-board recording, and allow for the higher bandwidth of a four-sensor camera on the recorder.
