What the iDS-2CD7546G2-XZHS-Y is

The Hikvision iDS-2CD7546G2-XZHS(Y) sits at the top of the DeepinView professional range, a 4 MP dome built for sites that need real intelligence at the edge, not just a clear picture.

A large 1/1.8" sensor and 150 dB Wide Dynamic Range hold detail in harsh, mixed light, and the camera records up to 60 fps so fast movement stays sharp.

With 2.5 TOPS of on-board deep learning it captures and compares faces, counts people, classifies human and vehicle targets for perimeter rules, and reads metadata that a control room or DeepinMind recorder can act on.

The headline feature is PTRZ.

The lens has motorised pan, tilt, rotate and zoom, so once the dome is on the wall or ceiling you frame and focus the exact view from a phone, web browser or the recorder, with no need to open the dome or climb back up.

It is important to be clear about what this is and is not: PTRZ is for setup and adjustment, it is not a roaming speed dome, so it does not patrol or auto-track on its own.

The motorised 2.8 to 12 mm lens (an 8 to 32 mm version is available) with P-iris covers anything from a wide lobby to a tighter gate or lane.

Night performance is handled by a hybrid IR and white-light supplement reaching up to 40 metres, with Smart Supplement Light to avoid over-exposing close subjects.

The white light lets the camera give full-colour images at night for the area it lights, while at longer range under infrared the picture is black and white.

Two built-in microphones and a speaker support two-way audio, and the metal body is rated IP67 and IK10, with a NEMA 4X anti-corrosion option on the -Y model.

It runs on standard PoE and records to a Hikvision NVR; for face-library comparison and storage, a DeepinMind recorder is the natural match.

DeepinView PTRZ dome, mounting base and the printed guide. A pendant, wall box or pole mount is selected to suit the position and bought separately.

Power and cabling

Run a single gigabit network cable for PoE (802.3at). Use a gigabit-capable switch or NVR port so the AI streams are not bottlenecked.

Fix the base to a solid wall or ceiling and feed the cable through before clicking the camera on, so the dome stays sealed and clean during the fit.

What does PTRZ mean, and does the camera move on its own?
PTRZ stands for motorised pan, tilt, rotate and zoom. It lets you set and adjust the exact view remotely from a phone, web browser or the recorder after the dome is mounted, so you do not open the dome or climb back up. It is an install and adjustment tool, not a roaming speed dome, so it does not patrol or auto-track by itself.

How is DeepinView different from a standard AcuSense camera?
DeepinView is Hikvision's professional AI line with far more on-board processing. As well as human and vehicle classification, it captures and compares faces against on-camera libraries, counts people and reads rich target metadata. A standard AcuSense camera does human and vehicle detection only, so DeepinView suits sites that need facial or analytics-led security.

Do I need a special recorder to use the face recognition?
The AI runs on the camera itself, so it works with a standard ONVIF or Hikvision NVR for recording. To manage face libraries, run comparisons and store the face data centrally, pair it with a Hikvision DeepinMind NVR such as the iDS-7716NXI. Older recorders may need a firmware update for full feature support.

Does it give colour images at night?
For the area lit by its white-light supplement, yes, it can give full-colour night images up to around 40 metres. Beyond that, or in IR-only mode, the picture is black and white. It uses DarkFighter 2.0 low-light imaging rather than continuous ColorVu, so set the supplement-light mode to suit the scene.

Does it record audio?
Yes. It has two built-in microphones and a built-in speaker, so it supports two-way audio for listening and speaking through the camera. It also has line in and line out connectors and alarm inputs and outputs for wider integration. Check that recording audio is permitted for your site.

The standard model uses a motorised 2.8 to 12 mm lens, which covers most wall and ceiling positions from a wide room to a gate or lane. An 8 to 32 mm version is available for longer-range views where you need to reach further down a car park or approach. Both set zoom and focus remotely.

How tough is it and how is it powered?
The metal body is rated IP67 against dust and water and IK10 against impact, and the -Y model adds NEMA 4X anti-corrosion protection for coastal and industrial sites. It runs on standard PoE (802.3at), so one network cable carries power and video to a Hikvision NVR.
