The Hikvision DS-2CD6984G1-IHSUY/NFC is a 32 MP PanoVu multisensor camera that replaces a row of fixed cameras with one device on one cable.

Four 2.8 mm lenses sit behind a single housing and the camera stitches their images into an 8160 x 3616 panorama that spans about 185 degrees, so a car park, a port apron or a stadium concourse is covered end to end at very high resolution from a single mounting point.

You can also view each lens on its own channel when you need to zoom into one section.

Although the pan and tilt range lets you set the housing during install, this is not a moving PTZ; there is no motorised tracking, and each lens is fixed once positioned.

On-camera deep learning provides people-density measurement in panorama mode and perimeter protection, line crossing, intrusion and zone rules, that can trigger only on people and vehicles, which keeps alerts meaningful across such a wide scene.

Infrared reaches up to 20 m for the area nearest the camera, so the night image is black and white close in; this is a wide-area situational camera rather than a long-range night camera.

It is built for hard sites.

The aluminium body is IP67 against dust and water, IK10 against impact and NEMA 4X against corrosion, an internal heater lets it start and run down to -40 degrees C, and a fibre-optic port allows runs far beyond a copper limit.

It has two built-in microphones plus audio in and out, but no built-in speaker, so it records sound without being a talk-back camera.

A microSD slot takes up to 1 TB, TPM 2.0 hardware security protects the data, and it accepts 12 VDC, 24 VAC or PoE.

Because each of the four lenses is a channel, allow several channels on the recorder when you size the NVR.

Mounting

Fit it high on a wall, pole or corner to look out across the wide scene, and set the four-lens panorama during install. Because each lens is fixed, plan the aim carefully before locking it down.
