The Hikvision DS-2CD2D25G1/M-D/NF is a covert camera for places where a visible camera is unwanted or intrusive.
It uses a split-type design: a miniature 31.5 mm lens head connects by cable to a separate main unit, so you can conceal just the small head behind a fascia, in a fitting or in joinery while the body sits out of view.
That makes it well suited to retail counters, ATMs, reception desks, hospitality interiors and other sensitive indoor spaces.
Despite its size it is a capable 2 MP camera.
It records 1920 x 1080 at up to 60 fps, which captures smooth, clear motion at a busy till or doorway, and 120 dB WDR balances exposure against bright windows and entrances so faces are not lost in silhouette.
Smart events such as line crossing, intrusion and region entry and exit run on board, and a line-in audio input lets you add an external microphone where recording sound is permitted and appropriate.
Two honest points so you set it up correctly.
It has no infrared, so it relies on the room's existing light and is intended for indoor use with some ambient lighting, not for dark or outdoor positions.
And it has no built-in microphone or speaker - audio is via the line-in input only.
It runs on a 12 VDC supply and connects over the network to a Hikvision NVR for recording and search.

One DS-2CD2D25G1/M-D/NF covert camera comprising the miniature lens head and the separate main unit with their connecting cable and fixings. The 12 VDC power supply, network cable and any NVR are supplied separately.
Installation requirements
Conceal the small lens head in the chosen indoor position with a clear line of sight and some ambient light, and mount the main unit nearby out of view.
