§ 01Overview

What the DS-2CD7A26G0 is

The Hikvision DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZS is a DeepinView bullet camera specialised for Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).

It uses a 2 MP 1/1.8" sensor at a high frame rate to freeze a moving plate, and a deep-learning engine reads and logs the characters.

The plate algorithm is tuned for Australian plates and reaches around 95% accuracy when the camera is aimed and set up correctly.

This configuration uses the 2.8 to 12 mm motorised zoom with 50 m infrared, which suits the everyday ANPR jobs where the vehicle passes within a moderate distance: a car park entry, a boom gate, a shop driveway or a single-lane gate.

The motorised lens lets you set the zoom and focus remotely so the plate fills the right part of the frame.

DarkFighter low-light performance and 140 dB Wide Dynamic Range keep plates legible against headlight glare at night and strong backlight by day, the two conditions that usually defeat an ordinary camera at an entrance.

On top of plate capture it holds a block list and an allow list on the camera, so a recognised plate can trigger a boom gate or an alert, and it adds face detection and behaviour analytics.

This is a metal bullet rated IP67 and IK10 for outdoor sites, powered by PoE or 12 VDC.

Aim, height and lighting matter for ANPR, so plan the install for a clean, front-on view of the plate; record it to a Hikvision NVR to store the footage and the plate events.

Note this model captures audio through a line connection rather than a built-in microphone.

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

50m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared sees in total darkness up to around 50m — good for longer driveways, car parks and wider properties. People and vehicles stay visible well beyond the reach of a porch light.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DS-2CD7A26G0

Made for plates

A dedicated ANPR engine tuned for Australian plates reads and logs vehicles, not just records them.

Right for close lanes

The 2.8 to 12 mm zoom and 50 m infrared suit car park entries, boom gates and driveways.

Legible in hard light

DarkFighter and 140 dB WDR hold the plate readable against headlight glare and bright backlight.

Acts on known plates

On-camera block and allow lists can trigger a gate or an alert for recognised vehicles.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Car park entries

Read plates at a boom gate or entry lane and trigger access for permitted vehicles.

Shop and site driveways

Log vehicles arriving at a business driveway within close to medium range.

Single-lane gates

Capture plates at a gated entry where vehicles pass close to the camera.

Small depots and yards

Record and flag vehicles at a moderate-distance entry point.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZS ANPR bullet camera with a mounting template, fixings and a quick guide. The PoE switch or NVR, network cable, microSD card and any junction box are supplied separately.

02

Installation requirements

Mount it for a clean, front-on view of the plate at the lane or gate, at a height and angle that keep the plate square in the frame, and run one network cable back to a PoE switch or NVR. Set the 2.8 to 12 mm zoom and focus on the plate area, tune the ANPR and lists in the software, and record it to a Hikvision NVR.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DS-2CD7A26G0

Q.01

What is the DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZS with the 2.8 to 12 mm lens best for?

It is a dedicated ANPR, or number plate, camera set up for close to medium range. With the 2.8 to 12 mm zoom and 50 m infrared it suits car park entries, boom gates and driveways where vehicles pass within a moderate distance.
Q.02

How accurate is the plate recognition?

Hikvision quotes around 95% or better on Australian plates when the camera is aimed and set up correctly. Real-world accuracy depends on the camera angle, mounting height, vehicle speed, lighting and how clean or reflective the plate is.
Q.03

Why only 2 MP for a plate camera?

Plate reading needs a clean, well-exposed image of the plate and a high frame rate to freeze movement, not a high pixel count. The 2 MP sensor at up to 60 fps and strong low-light performance suit moving vehicles better than a higher-megapixel camera that blurs in low light.
Q.04

What is the difference between this and the 8 to 32 mm version?

They are the same ANPR camera with different lenses. This 2.8 to 12 mm version with 50 m infrared is for close and medium lanes; the 8 to 32 mm version with 100 m infrared is for distant gates and long driveways. Choose by how far the plate sits from the camera.
Q.05

Can it open a boom gate for known plates?

Yes. It holds a block list and an allow list on the camera, so a recognised plate can trigger an alarm output or be flagged, which suits car park access, gated entries and depots.
Q.06

Does it have a built-in microphone?

It captures audio through a line connection for an external microphone rather than a built-in one. Add your own microphone if you need sound; the camera's job is plate capture.
Q.07

How should I mount it for good plate reads?

Aim it for a clean, front-on view of the plate, keep the angle shallow so the plate stays square in the frame, and set the height so headlights do not shine straight into the lens. Then set the zoom so the plate is captured at a good size.
Q.08

Does it need a special recorder?

It records to a standard Hikvision NVR for footage, with the plate events and lists handled on the camera. For larger or integrated ANPR setups, use a recorder or platform that supports the plate metadata.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

01

Record and review it

Feed it to a Hikvision AcuSense recorder such as the 16-channel DS-7732NXI-I4/16P NVR for higher channel counts and bandwidth, or the 8-channel DS-7608NI-I2/8P on smaller sites. Add a surveillance-grade drive like the 8 TB for weeks of continuous footage.

02

Power it over one cable

Run a single network cable per camera from a PoE source. The HiLook 8-port PoE switch feeds several cameras and the recorder, keeping the cabling tidy on multi-camera sites.

03

Reach a distant gate too

For a far boundary gate or a long lane, pair it with the long-range DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZS 8-32mm ANPR, which uses the 8 to 32 mm zoom and 100 m infrared.
