§ 01Overview

What the DHI-NVR5432-AI/ANZ is

The Dahua DHI-NVR5432-AI/ANZ is a Pro-series 32-channel recorder in a 1.5U chassis, built for sites where cameras are already powered from managed network switches rather than the recorder. It has no built-in PoE, so every camera connects over your network — the usual arrangement on a larger installation where cameras are spread across the site and fed by separate PoE switches. It records up to 32 cameras at resolutions as high as 32MP.

It runs the same recorder-side WizSense AI as the 16P version — face detection and recognition on two channels, perimeter protection on four channels and SMD Plus on eight channels — and supports rich camera-side analytics such as video metadata, ANPR, people counting and stereo analysis with capable cameras. With AI off it handles 384 Mbps of incoming bandwidth, dropping to around 200 Mbps with AI running, so plan camera count and bitrates for your mode. Dual HDMI and dual VGA outputs with 4K display suit a multi-screen monitoring position.

It has four SATA bays, each taking a surveillance drive up to 16TB for up to 64TB total, plus an eSATA port, and it is supplied without drives so you can plan capacity to suit your retention.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DHI-NVR5432-AI/ANZ

Built for switch-fed systems

With no built-in PoE, it suits larger sites where cameras already run from managed network switches across the property.

High channel count and resolution

Thirty-two channels and support for cameras up to 32MP cover a large or detailed camera estate.

Storage that scales

Four SATA bays up to 16TB each (up to 64TB) plus eSATA give the capacity a busy 32-channel system needs.

AI and multi-screen control

Recorder-side face, perimeter and SMD Plus analytics with dual HDMI and dual VGA outputs suit a staffed monitoring room.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Switch-based commercial sites

Aggregate up to 32 cameras already powered by network switches into one Pro recorder.

Multi-building and campus

Bring cameras from many switches and buildings back to a single 32-channel unit.

High-resolution estates

Run high-megapixel cameras up to 32MP with the bandwidth and storage a Lite NVR does not offer.

Long-retention installations

Fill four bays with high-capacity drives for weeks of recording across many channels.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One DHI-NVR5432-AI/ANZ 1.5U recorder, power lead and mouse. Hard drives, network switches, cameras and monitors are not included.

02

Installation requirements

Fit surveillance-grade SATA drives across the four bays to suit your retention, connect cameras through managed PoE switches on the network (the recorder has no built-in PoE), then connect monitors over HDMI/VGA and the network for remote access and add it to DMSS. Plan camera bitrates against the AI-on bandwidth limit; a UPS is recommended on a system this size. Professional installation is recommended.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DHI-NVR5432-AI/ANZ

Q.01

Does this NVR have built-in PoE ports?

No. The NVR5432-AI has no built-in PoE, so cameras connect through your own network switches. This is normal on a larger 32-channel system where cameras are spread across the site and powered by separate PoE switches. If you want some cameras powered directly from the recorder, choose the NVR5432-16P version with sixteen built-in PoE ports.
Q.02

Does it come with hard drives?

No. It is supplied without drives so you can plan capacity to suit the site. It has four SATA bays, each taking a surveillance-grade drive up to 16TB for up to 64TB in total, plus an eSATA port for further expansion.
Q.03

How many cameras and what resolution can it handle?

It records up to 32 IP channels at resolutions up to 32MP. With AI off it handles 384 Mbps of incoming bandwidth, dropping to around 200 Mbps with AI features running, so plan camera count and bitrates against the mode you will use.
Q.04

What AI features does the recorder provide?

On board it offers face detection and recognition on two channels, perimeter protection on four channels and SMD Plus on eight channels to filter people and vehicles from other motion. With capable WizSense cameras it also supports camera-side analytics such as video metadata, ANPR, people counting and stereo analysis.
Q.05

What switches do I need for the cameras?

Use managed or unmanaged PoE switches sized for your cameras, then connect those switches to the NVR over the network. Plan total switch PoE budget for the number and type of cameras, the same way you would for any non-PoE recorder.
Q.06

How many monitors can it drive?

It has dual HDMI and dual VGA outputs with 4K display support, so you can spread cameras across several screens for a monitoring position.
Q.07

Can I view it on my phone?

Yes. Connect the NVR to your router and add it to the free Dahua DMSS app to watch live and play back recordings from a phone or tablet, at home or away.
Q.08

Is this the Australian model?

Yes. The /ANZ suffix indicates Australia and New Zealand firmware, and it is supplied as genuine Australian Dahua stock with local warranty and support.
