§ 01Overview

What the DHI-NVR608H-128-AI/ANZ is

The Dahua DHI-NVR608H-128-AI/ANZ is an Ultra-series recorder built for the large end of town — airports, campuses, industrial sites, city and multi-building networks — where a single system has to record and manage up to 128 IP cameras reliably around the clock. It takes up to 512 Mbps of incoming bandwidth and records 4K with H.265+ smart encoding, so detailed footage from many high-resolution cameras is captured without overwhelming storage.

Storage and uptime are the point of this class. It holds up to 16 hard drives across its SATA bays for up to 160 TB and supports RAID 0/1/5/6/10, so footage survives a drive failure, and a redundant power supply keeps it running if one power module fails. Dual HDMI and VGA outputs drive independent displays for a control room. On the AI side, the recorder itself runs face recognition, perimeter protection and SMD Plus on a number of channels, while full analytics across all 128 channels are handled by Dahua WizMind AI cameras feeding the recorder.

Two practical notes when you size a system. Hard drives are supplied separately, so choose surveillance-grade drives to match your retention and RAID plan. And this recorder has no built-in PoE — cameras are connected through external network switches, which is normal for a centralised recorder of this size and gives you flexibility in how the network is laid out. It is genuine Australian Dahua stock with local 3-year warranty and support.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DHI-NVR608H-128-AI/ANZ

Records the whole site

128 channels and up to 512 Mbps on one recorder cover a large multi-building deployment without splitting it across boxes.

Storage that survives a failure

Up to 16 drives and 160 TB with RAID 0/1/5/6/10 keeps footage safe and retention long, even if a disk dies.

Built to stay up

A redundant power supply removes a single point of failure so continuous recording is not interrupted by one power module.

AI where you need it

Recorder-side face, perimeter and SMD Plus on selected channels, plus full AI through WizMind cameras, scales analytics to the site.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Airports and transport hubs

Record and manage hundreds of cameras across terminals on a resilient, RAID-protected recorder.

Campuses and healthcare

Cover multi-building sites from one recorder with long retention and AI on key channels.

Industrial and mining

Keep 24/7 footage of production lines, gates and yards with redundant power and storage.

City and multi-site networks

Centralise recording for a large camera estate with the bandwidth and channel count to match.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One DHI-NVR608H-128-AI/ANZ recorder with rack-mount hardware. Hard drives, network switches and cameras are supplied separately.

02

Installation requirements

Rack-mount the recorder, fit surveillance-grade drives and configure your RAID array before recording, and connect cameras through external PoE network switches sized for the camera count. Plan switch capacity, IP addressing and storage retention for the deployment; professional installation and commissioning are recommended for a system of this size.

§ 08Questions

Frequently asked about the DHI-NVR608H-128-AI/ANZ

Q.01

Does the NVR608H-128 come with hard drives?

No. It is supplied without hard drives so you can choose the capacity and configuration to match your camera count, retention period and RAID plan. Fit surveillance-grade drives across its SATA bays, up to 16 drives and 160 TB in total.
Q.02

Does it have built-in PoE for the cameras?

No. A recorder of this size does not include PoE; cameras connect through separate network switches. That is normal for a centralised 128-channel NVR and lets you design the switch and cabling layout to suit a large site.
Q.03

How many cameras and how much bandwidth does it handle?

Up to 128 IP camera channels with up to 512 Mbps of incoming bandwidth, which is enough headroom for a large deployment of 4K and high-frame-rate cameras using H.265+ smart encoding.
Q.04

What RAID levels does it support and why does that matter?

It supports RAID 0/1/5/6/10. RAID 5 or 6 lets the array survive one or two drive failures without losing footage, which matters when continuous recording from a large camera count cannot be interrupted by a single dead disk.
Q.05

What does the redundant power supply do?

It uses dual power modules so the recorder keeps running if one power supply fails. On a mission-critical site that removes a single point of failure and avoids an outage while a faulty module is replaced.
Q.06

Does the recorder do AI on its own, or do I need AI cameras?

Both play a part. The recorder runs face recognition, perimeter protection and SMD Plus on a number of channels itself, while full analytics across all 128 channels rely on Dahua WizMind AI cameras feeding it. For an AI-heavy design, plan the camera side to match the channels you need analytics on.
Q.07

Can it drive more than one monitor?

Yes. It has dual HDMI and VGA outputs that can show independent views, which suits a control room running several displays from one recorder.
Q.08

Is this genuine Australian Dahua stock with warranty?

Yes. It is the AI/ANZ model supplied as genuine Australian Dahua stock with local 3-year warranty and support, and free shipping on orders over A$300.
