The Dahua DH-IPC-HDBW3466R-AS-P is a 4 MP wide-angle dome built to cover a large area from a single camera.

Its fixed 2.1 mm lens captures a full 180-degree horizontal view, so one unit can watch an entire room, forecourt or building frontage and remove the blind spots you would get from a narrow lens.

On-board lens distortion correction straightens the panorama, giving a 170-degree corrected view by default with less barrel distortion.

WizSense intelligence brings SMD detection with human and vehicle classification plus perimeter rules such as tripwire and intrusion, so alarms focus on real activity across the wide scene.

120 dB WDR balances bright entrances against darker interiors, and a built-in microphone records audio.

The housing is rated IP67 against dust and rain and IK10 against impact, so it suits public entrances and exposed positions.

Two honest notes so it suits your site: the wide 2.1 mm lens is designed for close-to-medium coverage of a broad area, not for reaching a distant point, and its infrared illuminator covers about 15 m, which suits indoor rooms and close entrances rather than long outdoor distances.

It also has a built-in microphone but no speaker, so it records audio rather than offering two-way talk.

What's in the box

One DH-IPC-HDBW3466R-AS-P 4MP 180-degree dome camera with mounting template and fixings. The microSD card, power supply or PoE source and any NVR are supplied separately.

Installation requirements

Mount it centrally over the wide area to cover, on a wall or ceiling, and power it from a PoE switch or NVR or a 12 VDC supply. Connect the network, enable lens distortion correction if you want the straightened view, set the SMD rules, and add it to a Dahua NVR for recording and event search. Because the infrared covers about 15 m, position it for close-to-medium scenes.
