Dahua DHI-ARD912-W2(D) Wireless Water Leak Detector

SKU: DHI-ARD912-W2(D)
Description

The Dahua DHI-ARD912-W2(D) is a wireless water-leak detector for the Dahua AirShield alarm system. Place it on the floor by a washing machine, dishwasher, hot-water unit or under a sink and it raises an alarm the moment water reaches its probe, so you catch a leak before it does real damage. This (D) version has an adjustable-height probe, so you can set how deep the water has to pool before it alarms, and the casing is IPX5 water-resistant. It links to your AirShield hub over an encrypted two-way RF connection. An AirShield hub is required and sold separately.

Key points
- Alarms as soon as water reaches the probe
- Adjustable-height probe sets the trigger depth and sensitivity
- IPX5 water-resistant casing; no wiring, easy to place
- Encrypted two-way RF link with frequency hopping and jamming detection
- Ambient temperature display and overheat alarm
- CR123A battery, around 3 years; indoor; requires an AirShield hub

§ 01Overview

What the DHI-ARD912-W2(D) is

The Dahua DHI-ARD912-W2(D) watches for water where you do not want it.

Set it on the floor near a washing machine, dishwasher, hot-water system, sink or pipe run, and it raises an alarm the instant water bridges its probe — early warning that turns a quiet leak into a phone notification before it soaks a floor or ceiling.

The (D) version's probe height is adjustable: raise it with the screw and it takes more water to alarm, lower it and it catches the first thin film, so you can tune it to the spot and keep nuisance triggers down.

It is quick to live with.

There is no wiring — it mounts flat with screws or sits on the floor — and it links to the hub over a two-way RF connection with frequency hopping, AES128 encryption and jamming detection.

Beyond leaks it also reports the ambient temperature and can raise an overheat alarm, useful near a hot-water unit or in a plant room, and a multi-status LED plus the DMSS app keep you across power, pairing and alarm state.

A few honest notes: the casing is IPX5 water-resistant so it copes with splashes and a damp floor, but it is a leak sensor, not a submersible probe.

This model does not have a tamper switch, unlike some other AirShield detectors.

It runs on a CR123A cell for around three years when it triggers about once a day, and like every AirShield device it needs a hub to work — confirm its RF band matches your hub when you order.

It is genuine Australian Dahua stock with local 3-year warranty and support.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DHI-ARD912-W2(D)

Catches leaks early

Alarms the instant water reaches the probe, turning a quiet leak into a phone alert before it damages floors or ceilings.

Tune the trigger depth

The (D) adjustable-height probe lets you set how much water it takes to alarm, keeping nuisance triggers down.

No wiring, easy to place

It mounts flat or sits on the floor and runs on a battery, so it goes wherever the risk is.

More than a leak sensor

Ambient temperature reporting and an overheat alarm add a second layer of property protection.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Laundry and kitchen

Place it by a washing machine, dishwasher or under a sink where hoses and seals fail most often.

Hot-water and plant rooms

Watch a hot-water unit or pipe run, with the overheat alarm as a bonus in a warm space.

Bathrooms and basements

Catch overflow or seepage at the low point before it spreads through a floor.

Holiday homes and rentals

Get an early app alert about a leak at a property you are not living in day to day.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One DHI-ARD912-W2(D) water-leak detector with adjustable probe, a CR123A battery and screw mounting. A Dahua AirShield hub is required and not included.

02

Installation requirements

Sit it flat on the floor at the lowest point near the risk, set the probe height for the sensitivity you want, and enrol it to your AirShield hub in the DMSS app. Pour a little water to confirm it alarms and the signal to the hub is good before relying on it.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DHI-ARD912-W2(D)

Q.01

Where should I put the ARD912-W2(D)?

On the floor at the lowest point near anything that can leak — under a sink, beside a washing machine, dishwasher or hot-water unit, or along a pipe run. Water flows to the low spot, so placing the probe there gives you the earliest warning.
Q.02

What does the adjustable probe on the (D) version do?

Its probe height sets how much water it takes to alarm. Raise the probe with the screw and a deeper pool is needed before it triggers, which suits a spot that gets the odd splash; lower it and it catches the first thin film for the earliest possible warning.
Q.03

Does it work on its own?

No. It is a detector for the Dahua AirShield system and needs an AirShield hub. The hub receives the leak alarm and notifies you; on its own the detector has nothing to report to.
Q.04

Will it false-alarm from a damp floor or humidity?

Set the probe height to suit the spot so normal damp does not trip it while a genuine pool does, and place it where water collects rather than where it is merely humid. The adjustable probe is exactly what keeps nuisance triggers down.
Q.05

Is it waterproof itself?

The casing is IPX5 water-resistant, so it shrugs off splashes and a wet floor. It is a surface leak detector, though, not a submersible probe, so it is meant to sit on the floor and detect water reaching it, not be immersed.
Q.06

Does it have a tamper alarm?

No. Unlike some other AirShield detectors, this water-leak model does not include a tamper switch. It does report low battery and uses an encrypted, frequency-hopping link with jamming detection for a secure connection to the hub.
Q.07

Does it do anything besides detect water?

Yes. It also reports the surrounding temperature and can raise an overheat alarm, which is handy near a hot-water unit or in a plant room as an extra layer of property protection.
Q.08

Is this genuine Australian Dahua stock?

Yes. It is supplied as genuine Australian Dahua stock with local 3-year warranty and support, matching the AirShield hubs and peripherals sold here.
