Bosch CM796B Wiegand to RS485 LAN Interface Module
The Bosch CM796B is the interface module for a Solution 6000 or Solution 144 site that wants to use a third-party proximity reader: it takes a 26bit to 40bit Wiegand reader such as the PR100B and puts it on the panel's RS485 LAN as a reader address, with LED and buzzer control for the reader.
What you get
- 1 × CM796B module PCB with mounting spacer pack, installer reference guide and 2 shunts
You'll also need

A camera needs an NVR, a hard drive, and cabling to work. Add everything below, or pick a ready-made kit.
§ 01Overview
What the CM796B is
The Bosch CM796B lets a Solution 144 or Solution 6000 use readers that speak Wiegand instead of Bosch's own LAN protocol. A PR100B or another suitable third-party proximity reader in 26bit to 40bit Wiegand format connects to the module, and the module sits on the panel's RS485 LAN like a reader, so a site can keep an existing reader family or choose one for a particular door.
Each module takes one keypad or reader address, and a panel accepts up to 15 of them, on Solution 144 from version 2.08 and Solution 6000 from version 2.12. A rotary address switch on the board sets the address quickly, and clip-in PCB mounts fit the MW700, MW710, MW720 and MW730 enclosures.
The module drives the reader's LED and buzzer so the user gets feedback at the door, and it has its own STATUS, READER and ERROR indicators for commissioning. A tamper input, disabled by default, can be enabled when the module lives in a metal enclosure.
Power for the module is 10.0V to 14.5V DC at 50mA maximum, and a separately fused terminal pair feeds the reader from a suitable supply such as the CM720B. On the LAN side the total run can reach 300m on multi-strand security cable or 1200m on two-pair twisted shielded data cable such as Belden 8723.
It is an interface, not a reader: no reader or credentials are included, and Bosch's PR250B, PR260B, PR200B and PR201B credentials work through it only with the PR100B in Wiegand mode. Do not mix Bosch proprietary LAN readers or proximity keypads with Wiegand interface modules on the same system, because the credentials differ; other keypads and the fingerprint reader can be used as normal. The module carries a 3 years return-to-base warranty.
