§ 01Overview

What the VIGI SP6030 is

The TP-Link VIGI SP6030 is an intelligent solar power supply that runs a camera where there is no mains power and no network cable. It combines a 60 W solar panel, a 31.2 Ah / 10.8 V lithium battery (about 337 Wh) and an MPPT charge controller in a compact, IP66-rated package for permanent outdoor mounting.

As with the rest of the range, it is important to understand how it delivers power. The SP6030 has three 5.5 mm DC outputs of around 12 V at 2 A each - it supplies DC, not PoE. That is why it is matched with VIGI 4G cameras such as the C540-4G: the camera streams its video over the 4G mobile network and draws its power from the solar unit's DC output, so the site needs neither a power lead nor a data cable. It will also run other 12 V DC gear like outdoor access points, wireless bridges and 4G routers, but a standard PoE-only camera cannot be powered directly from it.

It is built for the same harsh conditions as the larger model. Intelligent auxiliary heating lets the lithium battery charge and discharge safely in the cold, for a -30 C to 60 C operating range, and the manual bracket tilts from 5 to 55 degrees to suit your latitude and season. The difference from the SP9030 is the panel: the SP6030's 60 W panel harvests less energy per day, so it suits lighter loads or sunnier locations, while sharing the same 31.2 Ah battery, DC outputs and VIGI app monitoring (battery level, load statistics and remote reboot). Genuine TP-Link VIGI stock with a local 3-year warranty.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the VIGI SP6030

Compact off-grid power

A 60 W panel and 31.2 Ah lithium battery run a 4G camera with no mains and no network cable, in a lighter package.

Built for 4G cameras

DC outputs power a VIGI C540-4G or S345-4G directly, while the camera streams over the mobile network.

Made for harsh sites

Intelligent battery heating and an IP66 rating keep it working from -30 C to 60 C, year round.

Same battery, smaller panel

Shares the SP9030's 31.2 Ah battery and outputs, so you only step down on panel size and weight.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Rural property and farms

Cover a gate, shed or fence line away from the house with a solar-powered 4G camera.

Temporary and pop-up sites

Add surveillance to a site with no power or network, then relocate it when you move on.

Sunny, lighter-load sites

Suit a single low-power 4G camera in a location that gets good year-round sun.

Remote gates and driveways

Watch an entrance well away from the nearest power point without trenching cable.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One VIGI SP6030 solar power system (60 W panel, controller and 31.2 Ah lithium battery), a quick start guide, waterproof cable attachments and mounting accessories. The camera is not included.

02

Installation requirements

Mount the panel on a pole (80-120 mm) or wall in the sunniest, shade-free position available, and set the manual tilt (5 to 55 degrees) for your latitude and season. Connect your VIGI 4G camera or other 12 V DC device to one of the three DC outputs - this unit supplies DC, not PoE. Activate the 4G camera's SIM and add the system to the VIGI app for remote monitoring. No mains power or network cabling to the site is required.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the VIGI SP6030

Q.01

Can the SP6030 power a normal PoE camera?

No. The SP6030 outputs DC through three 5.5 mm plugs of about 12 V, 2 A each, and it does not supply PoE. It powers DC devices, most commonly a VIGI 4G camera such as the C540-4G, which streams over 4G and takes its power from the solar unit. A standard PoE-only camera cannot be run directly from it.
Q.02

Which camera should I use with it?

The recommended match is the VIGI C540-4G 4G pan-tilt camera, or the S345-4G 4G bullet. They work over the mobile network for video and take 12 V DC power from the SP6030, so no mains power or network cable is needed at the site.
Q.03

What is the difference between the SP6030 and the SP9030?

Both share the same 31.2 Ah lithium battery and the same DC outputs. The SP6030 has a smaller 60 W panel, so it is lighter and more compact but harvests less energy each day - best for lighter loads or sunnier sites. The SP9030's 90 W panel suits a higher load or a less sunny location.
Q.04

How long does it run without sun?

Runtime depends on the load, the season and the weather. A single low-power 4G camera can run through several overcast days on the 31.2 Ah battery, but the 60 W panel recharges more slowly than the 90 W SP9030, so for a demanding load or a shadier site the larger model is the safer choice.
Q.05

Does it work in cold weather?

Yes. Intelligent auxiliary heating lets the lithium battery charge and discharge safely in low temperatures, giving a full operating range of -30 C to 60 C, which suits cold inland and alpine parts of Australia.
Q.06

Is it weatherproof for permanent outdoor use?

Yes. The system is IP66-rated, so the panel, controller and battery enclosure resist dust, rain and wind-driven spray for permanent outdoor mounting on a pole or wall.
Q.07

Can I monitor it remotely?

Yes. It has a 10/100 RJ45 port and works with the VIGI app, so you can check the battery level, view power-consumption statistics, receive alerts and reboot the system remotely rather than visiting the site.
Q.08

Can I install it myself?

Yes. Mount the panel in a sunny, shade-free spot on a pole or wall, set the tilt for your location, connect your 4G camera to a DC output and add the system to the VIGI app. There is no mains wiring, so a confident DIY installer can set it up, though a licensed installer is worth it for high or awkward mounts.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

01

Add the recommended camera

Pair the SP6030 with the VIGI C540-4G 4G pan-tilt camera - 4G for video, solar for power, no cabling.

02

Prefer a fixed bullet?

The VIGI S345-4G 4G bullet is the other off-grid match for this solar system.

03

Need more daily power?

For a heavier load or a shadier site, step up to the SP9030 90 W system.
