Installation Requirements

1. Power: PoE (IEEE 802.3at / PoE+) — requires PoE+ switch or injector. Or 12V DC. 2. Cable: Cat5e or Cat6, max 100m. 3. Mounting: Wall or pole. Metal housing. Avoid mounting near highly reflective surfaces — dual-lens cameras can get glare from white walls or metal. 4. Height: 3–5m recommended for best 180° panoramic coverage with minimal blind spots.

1. Download VIGI app (iOS/Android). Create TP-Link ID. 2. Power camera via PoE+. 3. App auto-discovers camera on the same network. Tap to add. 4. Set intrusion zones, line crossing rules, and active defence triggers.

Frequently asked about the S385DPS

Q.01

Does it work with Hikvision or Dahua NVRs?
It supports ONVIF (Profile S/T/G), so basic recording and viewing work with most third-party NVRs. AI features and active deterrence require a TP-Link VIGI NVR or the VIGI app.
Q.02

Is there a monthly subscription?
No. The VIGI app and VIGI Security Manager software are free. No cloud storage fees — recordings go to your NVR or local SD card.
Q.03

How does ColorPro compare to Hikvision ColorVu?
Both use warm white LEDs for colour night footage. Performance is similar in most conditions. The difference is ecosystem — ColorPro works within VIGI, ColorVu within Hikvision's platform.

Does the dual-lens 180° view show as one image or two?
One seamless stitched image on your NVR or app. The two 4MP streams merge into a single 8MP panoramic view.
Q.05

Does it need PoE+ or standard PoE?
PoE+ (802.3at). The dual-lens system with lights and speaker draws more power than a standard single-lens camera. Check your switch or NVR supports PoE+ on the port.

What warranty do you offer?

All cameras, NVRs and DVRs come with a 3-year back-to-base manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Hard drives and accessories are covered as set out in our Warranty Policy.

What is your return policy?

You have 30 days from the day you receive your order to request a change-of-mind return. Items must be unopened, factory-sealed and in resalable condition. A 15% restocking fee applies and return postage is at your cost. Faulty or incorrectly supplied items are different: we cover the return shipping and refund or replace at no charge. Do you offer installation?
