The Hikvision DS-2CD3787G3T-LIZSU(Y) is an 8 MP ColorVu 3.0 dome with a motorised 2.7 to 13.5 mm zoom, made for sites that want true full-colour night images and the option of an anti-corrosion housing.

A 1/1.8" sensor and an F1.2 lens record 8 MP (3840 x 2160) video, and the motorised varifocal lens lets you set zoom and focus remotely from a wide view down to a tight long-range shot.

With 130 dB Wide Dynamic Range, the image stays readable where strong daylight meets shadow, such as a glass entrance or a covered driveway.

ColorVu paired with Smart Hybrid Light is the headline.

ColorVu's large aperture pulls in available light, and the white supplement light fills in when it gets truly dark, holding full-colour images up to 40 m rather than the black and white of infrared-only cameras.

Smart Hybrid Light also lets you run a discreet infrared mode or a smart mode that only switches on white light when a target is detected, which limits light spill near homes.

Deep-learning analytics classify people and vehicles, so perimeter rules such as line crossing and intrusion alarm on those targets and ignore the weather and animals that trigger basic motion detection.
