Installation Requirements

1. Power: PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or 12V DC. 2. Cable: Cat5e or Cat6, max 100 m. 3. Mounting: Ceiling only — directly above the counting line. Camera must face straight down. Mounting height 2.1–6 m. 4. Position the lens pair perpendicular to the flow of foot traffic for best accuracy.

App Setup

1. Download Hik-Connect app (iOS or Android). Create an account. 2. Power the camera via PoE. Wait about 60 seconds. 3. Add by QR code or serial number. 4. Draw counting lines and configure height filter thresholds in the web interface or iVMS-4200.

Frequently asked about the DS-2CD6825G0/C-IVS

Q.01

Can I use it as a normal surveillance camera?

Yes, it records 1080p video alongside the counting data. However, the 2 mm lens gives a very wide, downward-facing view — it is not ideal for identification at distance.

Q.02

Does it need a special NVR?

Any Hikvision NVR records the video. For counting data and reports, use iVMS-4200 or a Hikvision HikCentral platform.

Q.03

How accurate is the people counting?

Hikvision claims over 95% accuracy in typical conditions. Accuracy drops if people walk very close together or if the mounting height is outside the 2.1–6 m range.

Q.04

Does it work outdoors?

Yes. The IVS model is IP67 rated. For indoor-only, the IS variant is available.

Q.05

What is the resolution?

1920 × 1080 at 30 fps per sensor (2560 × 1440 combined). Sufficient for counting but not for facial detail at distance.
