§ 01Overview

What the DH-HAC-HDW2501TP-Z-A-DP-27135-S2 is

The Dahua DH-HAC-HDW2501TP-Z-A-DP-S2 is a 5MP Starlight Pro HDCVI motorised varifocal eyeball camera for coaxial systems.

A 1/2.7-inch sensor with Starlight imaging and 120dB true WDR delivers clear colour detail in low light, while a motorised 2.7-13.5mm lens allows remote framing and Smart IR reaches up to 60m.

Its output is switchable between CVI, TVI, AHD and CVBS, so it integrates with most existing analogue and HDCVI recorders, and a built-in microphone captures audio over the same coax.

The IP67 metal housing suits outdoor positions, and the camera powers from AC 24V or 12V DC, recording to an HDCVI or penta-brid DVR rather than a network NVR.

What the DH-HAC-HDW2501TP-Z-A-DP-27135-S2 features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

60m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared sees in total darkness up to around 60m, covering long driveways and large properties. Even well away from the house, people and vehicles remain clear in black-and-white.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DH-HAC-HDW2501TP-Z-A-DP-27135-S2

5MP detail over coax

A 5MP Starlight sensor lifts image quality on an existing coaxial system without moving to a network platform.

Fits most recorders

Switchable CVI, TVI, AHD and CVBS output integrates with most HDCVI and analogue DVRs, easing upgrades and replacements.

Long-range night coverage

Smart IR to 60m with Starlight low-light imaging keeps driveways, yards and perimeters legible in complete darkness.

Flexible framing with audio

A motorised varifocal lens sets the view remotely, and a built-in microphone captures audio over the same coax.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Coaxial system upgrades

Sites with existing coax can lift detail to 5MP by swapping cameras, keeping the cabling and a compatible DVR.

Driveways and perimeters

60m Smart IR and the motorised lens cover long approaches and boundaries, framing gates and entries precisely at night.

Retail and small business

Starlight imaging and WDR suit shopfronts and yards where lighting is mixed, with audio for added context.

Mixed analogue sites

Switchable output integrates the camera into existing AHD, TVI or CVBS systems during staged upgrades.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

Pair with an HDCVI or penta-brid DVR

Record to a DVR that supports HDCVI or the matching analogue format. For 5MP 16:9, confirm the recorder firmware supports it before installing.

02

Set the output format

Select CVI, TVI, AHD or CVBS to match your recorder during commissioning, then confirm the image at the DVR.

03

Power with AC 24V or 12V DC

Provide an AC 24V or 12V DC supply within the camera's tolerance; HDCVI does not use PoE, so plan power separately from the coax.

04

Mount and seal the cabling

Mount on wall or ceiling and use a Dahua junction box such as the PFA130-E and a PFB203W wall bracket to seal cabling on outdoor positions.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DH-HAC-HDW2501TP-Z-A-DP-27135-S2

Q.01

Is the DH-HAC-HDW2501TP-Z-A-DP-S2 an IP camera?

No. It is an HDCVI (coaxial) camera, so it transmits over coax and records to an HDCVI or penta-brid DVR rather than an IP NVR. It suits sites with existing coaxial cabling that want 5MP detail without moving to a network system.
Q.02

Which recorders is it compatible with?

Its output is switchable between CVI, TVI, AHD and CVBS, so it works with most HDCVI and analogue penta-brid DVRs. For 5MP 16:9 output the recorder firmware may need updating, so confirm your DVR supports 5MP HDCVI before installing.
Q.03

How far does the IR reach?

Smart IR reaches up to 60m, with intelligent adjustment to prevent overexposing objects near the camera. Combined with the Starlight sensor, it gives long-range night coverage along driveways, yards and perimeters.
Q.04

Can I adjust the lens remotely?

Yes. The motorised 2.7-13.5mm varifocal lens sets zoom and focus remotely from the DVR or controller, so you can reframe from a wide entry to a tighter, longer-range scene without returning to the camera.
Q.05

Does it record audio?

Yes. It has a built-in microphone, and HDCVI carries the audio back over the same coaxial cable to the recorder, so you can capture on-site sound without a separate audio cable, where local laws allow.
Q.06

Does it have AI human and vehicle detection?

No. This is a Starlight Pro analogue camera focused on image quality and IR range rather than AI. For human and vehicle classification, choose a WizSense IP camera that lists those analytics.
Q.07

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The metal housing is IP67 rated against dust and water, suiting eaves, walls and exposed outdoor positions. Use a junction box such as the PFA130-E to seal the cabling on outdoor installs.
Q.08

How is it powered?

It runs on AC 24V or 12V DC with a wide voltage tolerance. HDCVI does not use PoE, so provide power separately from the coaxial video cable with a compatible supply.
