SKU: IPC-T289PH-MU/SL-BLK
Description

The HiLook IPC-T289PH-MU/SL-BLK is an 8MP all-in-one camera that covers a full 180° in one view, so a single unit can watch a wide frontage, car park or yard that would otherwise need two cameras. A single 2 mm lens spreads the scene across 4256 × 1888 pixels, Smart Hybrid Light keeps the picture in full colour to about 30 metres at night, and a built-in microphone and 97 dB speaker give you genuine two-way audio. When it detects a person or vehicle it can flash red and blue strobes and sound an alarm to warn an intruder off. It runs over one PoE cable or 12 V DC behind an IP67 metal housing. This is the black model.

§ 01Overview

What the IPC-T289PH-MU/SL-BLK is

The HiLook IPC-T289PH-MU/SL-BLK is an 8MP 180° all-in-one camera built to replace two or three ordinary cameras at a wide open spot.

Its single 2 mm lens gives a true 180° horizontal field of view, mapped across a 4256 × 1888 sensor, so one unit on a corner, wide wall or pole can take in a whole frontage, car park, intersection or yard in a single stream.

Because the panoramic coverage is the point, it is best aimed at area awareness rather than long-range face detail — identification falls off past about 10 metres, so for reading faces or plates at distance you would add a standard lens camera alongside it.

At night it does not drop to grey.

Smart Hybrid Light pairs a high-sensitivity sensor with white LEDs to hold full colour to about 30 metres, and it can switch to 850 nm infrared, also to 30 metres, for a discreet black-and-white view.

Person and vehicle detection (triggered on motion) keeps alerts focused on people and cars rather than every shadow, and the camera earns its ‘all-in-one’ name with active deterrence: on a detected target it can flash red and blue strobes and sound an alarm, while a built-in microphone and 97 dB speaker let you listen and talk back through the camera.

It is built for outdoor Australian use — an IP67-rated metal housing (bar the trim ring), a wide operating range and efficient H.265+ recording.

It can run completely standalone through the Hik-Connect app with a microSD card up to 512 GB, or connect to a HiLook NVR over a single PoE cable (802.3af) for continuous recording and full event management; a 12 V DC supply is also supported.

Retailers often market this model as ‘dual-lens’, but the official specification is a single 2 mm panoramic lens.

This is the black casing; a white version is also available.

It is genuine stock with a local 3-year warranty and support.

See it in action

What the IPC-T289PH-MU/SL-BLK features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

8MP Ultra HD

8MP (4K) resolution captures four times the detail of 1080p.
Even when a person or car is far down the driveway, you can zoom in and still recognise a face or read a number plate — detail that lower-resolution cameras lose.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

Full Color Night Vision

Unlike plain black-and-white night vision, this camera can capture colour after dark — so you can pick out the actual colour of a car, a jacket or a bag, detail that grey infrared footage loses.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

Two-Way Audio

Talk and listen in real time through the app — tell a courier where to leave a parcel, or speak to someone at the gate, whether you're home or away.

Blue/Red Strobe

When activity is detected after dark, the camera can flash a bright red-and-blue strobe to warn intruders they've been seen — active deterrence, not just a recording for later.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the IPC-T289PH-MU/SL-BLK

One camera, whole scene

A true 180° view from a single 2 mm lens covers a wide frontage or yard that would otherwise need two or three cameras.

Colour through the night

Smart Hybrid Light holds full colour to about 30 m, with infrared on hand for a discreet black-and-white view.

It warns, not just watches

Red and blue strobes, a 97 dB speaker and two-way audio let you actively deter an intruder rather than only record one.

Flexible to run

Use it standalone on Hik-Connect with a microSD card, or record it on a HiLook NVR over one PoE cable.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Wide frontages and car parks

A single unit takes in a whole shopfront, driveway or parking area in one 180° stream.

Yards and open areas

Panoramic coverage suits a back yard, compound or laneway where you want situational awareness over fine detail.

Entry points needing deterrence

Strobe, siren and talk-down audio help warn off loiterers at gates, alleyways and access points.

Pair with a detail camera

Run it alongside a fixed-lens turret so the wide camera sees everything and the second reads faces or plates up close.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One IPC-T289PH-MU/SL-BLK camera with mounting accessories and a quick start guide. A HiLook NVR, PoE switch or power supply, network cable and any microSD card are supplied separately. Optional brackets include the DS-1273ZJ-140 wall mount.

02

Installation requirements

Mount it above 3 metres on a corner, wide wall or pole overlooking the area, angle the lens 68 to 75 degrees down, and run one network cable back to a HiLook PoE NVR or switch (or use 12 V DC). Activate it in Hik-Connect or on the NVR, set the night mode, detection and deterrence rules, then walk-test the 180° coverage.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the IPC-T289PH-MU/SL-BLK

Q.01

Is the IPC-T289PH a single-lens or dual-lens camera?

The official HiLook specification lists a single 2 mm fixed lens that delivers a 180° horizontal field of view across an 8MP sensor. Some retailers describe it as dual-lens, but the datasheet describes one panoramic lens, not two stitched sensors.
Q.02

How far can it identify people at 180 degrees?

It is built for wide area coverage rather than long-range detail. The DORI figures are detect 50 m, observe 20 m, recognise 10 m and identify 5 m, so it is excellent for seeing what is happening across a wide scene. For reading faces or number plates at distance, pair it with a standard fixed-lens camera.
Q.03

Does it record in colour at night?

Yes. Smart Hybrid Light holds full colour to about 30 metres using white LEDs, and it can switch to 850 nm infrared, also to 30 metres, for a discreet black-and-white view. You can set the mode or let the camera switch automatically on a detected event.
Q.04

Does it have two-way audio and an alarm?

Yes. It has a built-in microphone and a built-in speaker rated to 97 dB, so you can listen and speak through the camera. On a detected person or vehicle it can flash its red and blue strobe lights and sound an audible alarm to warn the intruder off.
Q.05

Can it be used without an NVR?

Yes. It can run standalone through the Hik-Connect app and record to a microSD card up to 512 GB. For continuous recording and full event management most installs connect it to a HiLook NVR over a single PoE cable.
Q.06

How is it powered?

Over one network cable using PoE (IEEE 802.3af), so a single run carries power and data, or from a 12 V DC supply if you do not have PoE. A HiLook PoE NVR or PoE switch powers it directly.
Q.07

Where should I mount it for the best 180 degree view?

HiLook recommends mounting above 3 metres and angling the lens down between 68 and 75 degrees, with the subject around 8 to 12 metres away. Corners, wide walls and poles overlooking an open area give the best use of the panoramic field of view.
Q.08

Is it suitable for outdoor use in Australia?

Yes. It has an IP67-rated metal housing and a wide operating temperature range, so it handles rain, dust, heat and sun. This is the black model; a white version is also available, and both are genuine stock with a local 3-year warranty.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

02

Add a surveillance hard drive

HiLook NVRs ship without a drive — add a surveillance-grade 2TB hard drive or 6TB hard drive to record continuously.

03

Pair with a detail camera

Add a standard turret such as the IPC-T383H-MU or the ColorVu IPC-T581H-MU so one camera covers wide and the other reads faces up close.
