DIY Installation Guide: How To Install A Hikvision Dahua IP Camera
Step 1: Camera Preparation and Mounting
Prepare and mount the camera: Disassemble the dome camera. Drill a hole in the junction box for the wires. Attach the camera base to the junction box and secure the camera to the base with screws. Mark and drill holes for the junction box on the desired surface [00:09].
Mount the junction box: Screw the junction box to the ceiling or wall [01:00:00].
Crimp Ethernet cables: Strip the Ethernet cable, arrange the wires according to the T-568B standard, and crimp an RJ45 connector onto the cable [01:21:00].

Step 2: Outdoor Camera Installation

Cable preparation: Prepare the Ethernet cable by stripping it and arranging the wires for the RJ45 connector [03:25:00].
Crimp and connect: Crimp the RJ45 connector onto the cable and connect it to the camera [03:49:00].

Step 3: NVR Setup
Unbox and install hard drive: Unbox the Hikvision NVR. Install an 8TB Western Digital hard drive by connecting the SATA and power cables and securing it [04:00:00].

Power and initial setup: Connect the NVR to a power strip. Follow the on-screen wizard to set up the language, password, time zone, and date. Initialize the hard drive [05:11:00].

Connect cameras to NVR: Connect the cameras to the patch panel. Use patch cables to connect the patch panel ports to the NVR's PoE ports [05:41:00].
