§ 01Overview

What the IPC-T282H-MU is

This HiLook AcuSense kit is a four-camera, eight-channel package built for homes, shops and small sites that want clean 8 MP footage without a complicated install.

Each IPC-T282H-MU turret camera records at 3840 x 2160 through a fixed 2.8 mm lens, so one camera covers a wide area such as a driveway, entry or yard.

The cameras connect to the NVR with a single network cable each: the recorder supplies power and carries video over that one Cat5e/Cat6 run thanks to its eight built-in PoE ports.

AcuSense is the part you notice day to day.

Instead of flagging every shadow, the system uses deep-learning Motion Detection 2.0 to tell people and vehicles apart from animals and weather, so push alerts and event searches stay relevant.

At night the cameras switch to a 30 m infrared illuminator and record in black and white, while 120 dB WDR holds detail against headlights and bright doorways.

Every camera has a built-in microphone, so audio is captured alongside the video (there is no speaker, so the cameras do not talk back).

H.265+ compression keeps file sizes down so a given drive holds many more days of recording.

The lens is fixed at 2.8 mm, made for wide close-to-medium coverage rather than zooming in on a far-off point.

The kit does not include a hard drive: the NVR has one 3.5-inch SATA bay and takes a single surveillance drive up to 6 TB, which you add below to suit how long you want to keep footage.

The kit ships with four cameras but the NVR has eight PoE ports, so there is room to add up to four more 8 MP cameras later.

What is in the box

Four HiLook IPC-T282H-MU 8 MP turret cameras with their mounting bases and screw packs, one NVR-108MH-C-8P 8-channel PoE NVR with its power adaptor, a USB mouse, network leads and a quick start guide. A hard drive is not included, so add a surveillance drive below before you start recording.

What you will need

Run one Cat5e or Cat6 cable from the NVR to each camera position (up to about 100 m per run); PoE sends power and video down that one cable. Fit a single 3.5-inch SATA surveillance hard drive up to 6 TB in the NVR, and connect a monitor or TV by HDMI for the first-time setup. The cameras are outdoor-rated to IP67; the NVR is an indoor unit and should sit in a dry, ventilated spot.

Getting set up

Mount each camera, plug it into a PoE port and the NVR finds it automatically through plug-and-play. Set the time and a strong password, draw your detection zones for AcuSense, then add the HiLookVision or Hik-Connect app to view live and play back recordings from your phone.

Does this kit come with a hard drive?
No, a hard drive is not included. The NVR has one 3.5-inch SATA bay and takes a single surveillance drive up to 6 TB, which you choose to match how many days of footage you want to keep. We stock 2 TB and 6 TB surveillance drives that you can add to your order.

How many cameras can I run on the recorder?

Do the cameras record in colour at night?
No. These are infrared cameras, so after dark they switch to a 30 m infrared illuminator and record in clear black and white. For full-colour night images you would need a ColorVu or warm-light model instead.

Do the cameras have audio, and can I talk through them?
Each camera has a built-in microphone, so sound is recorded alongside the video. There is no speaker, so the cameras cannot play audio back or let you talk to site. Please also check your state laws on recording audio before you enable it.

Yes. The cameras are IP67-rated metal turrets built for dust and rain in exposed outdoor positions. The NVR is an indoor unit and should be installed in a dry, ventilated location such as a cupboard or comms area.
