§ 01Overview

What the QND-8011 is

The Hanwha QND-8011 is a super-compact 5MP indoor mini dome from Hanwha's Wisenet Q series — designed for hospitality, corporate reception, residential and boutique retail ceilings where the industrial-camera look is aesthetically inappropriate.

A 2.8mm F2.0 fixed lens covers 104.4° horizontal, sufficient for a typical room from a single ceiling mount.

H.265, H.264 and MJPEG codecs with WiseStream II bandwidth optimisation; 120dB True WDR handles backlit windows and mixed-lighting entrances.

Includes tampering detection, defocus detection, hallway view mode (90°/270° rotation), and on-camera people counting — turning every install into a footfall data source without a separate BI server.

PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 2) with low power draw — one of the most efficient PoE cameras in the range.

IK08 impact rating (indoor-standard) with IP42 dust and drip protection.

Compatible with ONVIF Profile G/S/T VMS platforms.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the QND-8011

Ultra-Compact for Aesthetic Ceilings

The super-compact design sits close to the ceiling on residential, hospitality and boutique commercial finishes — avoiding the industrial-camera look that ruins customer-facing spaces. Aesthetically appropriate where a full-size dome dominates.

On-Camera People Counting

Unlike other entry-level cameras that require a separate BI platform for counting, this mini dome runs people counting analytics on the camera itself. Footfall data streams directly to any ONVIF-compatible dashboard, no add-on server needed.

PoE Class 2 Efficient Power

At Class 2 rather than Class 3, this camera draws less power than typical 5MP domes. On a 24-port PoE switch, that means either more cameras per switch, or more headroom for higher-draw devices.

Discreet Without Sacrificing Resolution

Small form factor cameras often trade resolution for size. This unit delivers full 5MP capture in a mini dome — practical performance in a package that fits residential and hospitality ceilings.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Hotel Guest Room Corridors

Ultra-compact housing blends into corridor ceilings; hallway view covers narrow corridors efficiently; 5MP catches identifying detail during incident review.

Corporate Reception & Executive Foyers

Small form factor doesn't dominate the aesthetic — coverage of visitor arrivals, delivery drop-offs, and after-hours entry attempts without the industrial dome look.

Residential Common Areas

Apartment building lobbies, elevator vestibules, letterbox areas — where visual aesthetic matters and residents object to industrial-look cameras.

Boutique Retail & Hospitality

Cafe dining areas, small restaurant seating, boutique retail floors — coverage with people counting for operational analytics.

Medical & Dental Waiting Areas

Discrete monitoring of patient waiting areas with people counting for occupancy tracking during peak times.

Installation & setup

01

What's in the Box

1. Hanwha QND-8011 Camera x 1 2. Mounting Template & Fixings x 1 set 3. Quick Start Guide x 1

02

Installation Requirements

1. Power: PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 2) - any standard PoE switch port works; alternatively 12VDC input. 2. Storage: micro SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot up to 128GB (sold separately). 3. Mounting: indoor mini dome housing, IK08 rated - ceiling only; IP42 doesn't cover outdoor exposure. 4. Network: ONVIF Profile G/S/T for third-party VMS or Wisenet WAVE / SSM native.

03

App & Setup

1. Discover with Wisenet Toolbox Plus or Device Manager. 2. Set admin password on first login (brute-force prevention enforced), configure H.265 with WiseStream II. 3. Fixed lens - no focal alignment needed; orient mount for desired 104° coverage. 4. Enable event rules (tampering, defocus) and people counting zones.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the QND-8011

Q.01

Why is this camera smaller than a standard dome?

The QND-8011 uses a super-compact housing designed to sit closer to the ceiling and take less visible profile. The intent is to blend into residential, hospitality and boutique commercial finishes — spaces where a full-size industrial-look dome camera would be aesthetically inappropriate.
Q.02

Is IK08 enough for a public-facing install?

IK08 (5 joules) is designed for controlled indoor environments — offices, corridors, residential common areas, hospitality corridors. For higher-risk public zones (transit, schools, government front-of-house) where deliberate impact is expected, choose a higher impact-rated model.
Q.03

Does it have IR?

No. This unit doesn't have IR LED illumination. In dark conditions the camera relies on the F2.0 lens and ambient light; for full-dark identification, choose a variant with IR (e.g., the QND-8010R).
Q.04

How does the on-camera people counting work?

The people counting analytics run on the camera's own processor, detecting persons crossing a defined line or zone and generating count events. Events stream to any ONVIF-compatible VMS or third-party dashboard — no separate BI platform or per-lane software licence required.
Q.05

What's the power consumption on PoE?

PoE Class 2 — lower power draw than Class 3. Practical effect: more cameras per switch budget, and Class 2-only PoE ports (occasionally found on legacy switches) can power this camera where a Class 3 unit would need a switch upgrade.
Q.06

What VMS is compatible?

ONVIF Profile G / S / T for third-party VMS. Native Wisenet WAVE and SSM integration is fullest; SUNAPI (HTTP API) is documented for custom integrations.
Q.07

Where should this NOT be used?

Outdoor deployment — IP42 covers indoor dust and vertical drips only, not rain or wind-driven debris. High-impact public zones — IK08 is adequate for controlled indoor spaces but not for transit or vandalism-prone external areas.
