01Overview

What the QNV-7012R is

The Hanwha QNV-7012R is a 4MP H.265 IR vandal dome camera in the Wisenet Q Series, engineered for indoor and outdoor coverage across a broad temperature range.

A 1/2.9" CMOS sensor pairs with a fixed 2.8mm F2.0 lens covering a 108° horizontal / 60° vertical / 122° diagonal field of view, delivering 2560×1440 detail at 30fps under H.265, H.264, and MJPEG codecs with WiseStream II smart compression.

120dB WDR combined with SSNR noise reduction preserves detail through mixed daylight, while 850nm IR LEDs illuminate the scene to 20m at 0.015 lux B/W for overnight coverage.

The aluminium vandal dome is IP66 and IK10 rated across an extended -40°C to +55°C operating range, mounts on a Micro SD slot for edge recording, and accepts either IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE or 12VDC input.

Non-AI analytics include motion, tampering, defocus, and virtual line/area rules.

Replaces the discontinued QNV-7010R with matched form factor and mounting compatibility.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the QNV-7012R

Direct Drop-In Replacement for QNV-7010R

Matched form factor and lens spec allow the QNV-7012R to swap into an existing QNV-7010R mount without changing the recorder configuration, keeping refresh cycles simple.

Cold-Chain and Outback Ready

Wide -40°C to +55°C operating range extends well beyond the -30°C~+55°C typical of standard cameras, supporting refrigerated coldrooms, alpine sites, and extreme outback AU deployments without needing enclosed heated housings.

Dual Power Options

Support for both IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE and 12VDC input eliminates the need to re-cable 12VDC-only refit sites; the camera accepts either without an accessory converter.

Vandal Dome Where Housing Matters

IK10 impact resistance is standard on IK-rated vandal domes but rare on cheap alternatives — the aluminium body handles ball strikes, tampering attempts, and general knock-around exposure in schools and community facilities.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Retail Store Interiors and Ceiling Mounts

108° horizontal coverage from a discreet ceiling mount takes in checkout areas, aisles, and doorways in retail interiors; 120dB WDR keeps subjects visible when the camera faces a sunlit front window.

Refrigerated Coldrooms and Cold-Chain Sites

The -40°C operating range supports permanent camera mounts inside food-industry coldrooms, chilled logistics facilities, and freezer aisles where a standard camera would trip its low-temperature limit.

School and Community Facility Interiors

Vandal-rated IK10 dome housing suits gymnasium ceilings, corridor walls, and other spaces subject to occasional ball strikes or tampering.

Refit Sites With 12VDC Cabling

Existing analog CCTV refit projects often have 12VDC power already run to camera positions. The dual-power input avoids the need to re-cable those sites for PoE.

06Setup

Installation & setup

  1. Dual Power Options

Accepts IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE (typ. 8.1W, max 10.7W) or 12VDC (typ. 6.5W, max 9.1W). Verify the total switch or injector budget across cameras when using PoE.

  2. Physical Housing

Compact 510g aluminium vandal dome. Suits standard AU ceiling and wall mount interfaces; use the mounting bracket supplied with the camera.

  3. First-Time Setup

Configure via the Hanwha Vision web interface after connecting to the network. Confirm image alignment during install; the 2.8mm lens is fixed and cannot be zoomed after mounting.

  4. Environmental Range

Operating -40°C to +55°C (start-up above -30°C required), storage -40°C to +60°C. Rated IP66 for dust and water jets and IK10 for impact. Preserve IP66 rating by sealing conduit and cable entry with weatherproof glands.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the QNV-7012R

Q.01

Q: Is the QNV-7012R a direct replacement for the QNV-7010R?
A: Yes. Hanwha lists the 7012R as the replacement for the discontinued QNV-7010R, with matched 4MP resolution, 2.8mm fixed lens, and vandal dome form factor. Existing mount hardware and recorder configuration in most cases carry over without change.
Q.02

Q: What field of view should I plan for from a single QNV-7012R?
A: The fixed 2.8mm F2.0 lens provides a 108° horizontal, 60° vertical, and 122° diagonal field of view. DORI figures per EN62676-4 give Detect at 40.0m, Observe at 16.0m, Recognize at 8.0m, and Identify at 4.0m — plan mounting so target subjects sit inside the Recognize or Identify bands.
Q.03

Q: How far does the night vision reach?
A: The 850nm IR LEDs illuminate to 20m (65.62ft), and minimum illumination is 0.15 lux in colour and 0.015 lux in B/W at 1/30 sec / 30 IRE. In near-total darkness the camera falls back to B/W with IR on.
Q.04

Q: Can I power the QNV-7012R over PoE, 12VDC, or both?
A: Both. The camera accepts IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE with typical draw 8.1W and maximum 10.7W, or 12VDC input with typical draw 6.5W and maximum 9.1W. Use whichever infrastructure is available at the mount position.
Q.05

Q: What operating temperature range does the QNV-7012R support?
A: Operating range is -40°C to +55°C, storage -40°C to +60°C, with start-up required above -30°C. The wider low-temperature limit supports refrigerated coldrooms, alpine mounts, and inland winter conditions that a standard -30°C camera would not tolerate.
Q.06

Q: Does this camera include AI object classification?
A: No. The QNV-7012R runs Normal analytics only — motion detection, tampering, defocus detection, and Virtual line / Virtual area rules. It does not classify person versus vehicle. AI-based classification is available in the Hanwha C-series (e.g. QNO-C series).
Q.07

Q: Is the housing rated for direct outdoor exposure?
A: Yes. The aluminium vandal dome carries IEC 60529 IP66 and IEC 62262 IK10 ratings. Seal all cable and conduit entries with weatherproof glands to preserve the IP66 rating; the housing is not suitable for permanent submersion.
Q.08

Q: What ONVIF and API options are supported for integration?
A: The camera implements ONVIF profiles S, G, and T alongside SUNAPI (HTTP API) and Hanwha Vision Open Platform, with Ethernet on RJ-45 10/100BASE-T.
