§ 01Overview
What the QNP-6250R is
The Hanwha Wisenet QNP-6250R is a 2-Megapixel outdoor PTZ dome camera built for long-range perimeter surveillance in Australian conditions.
A 25x optical zoom lens (4.44 to 111 millimetre focal length, 32x digital) lets operators pinpoint detail across large sites, while 360-degree endless pan and -20 to 90 degree tilt cover the full field with 300 presets at +/-0.2 degree accuracy.
Built-in 850nm infrared illuminators extend usable night vision out to 100m, addressing the unlit stretches common on rural and industrial boundaries.
An IP66-rated, IK10 impact-resistant aluminium housing shrugs off dust, rain, and knocks, and the -35C to +55C operating range suits harsh outdoor climates.
WiseStream II with H.265 keeps bandwidth and storage in check at up to 60fps, and PoE+ power simplifies cabling.
ONVIF Profile S/G/T and SUNAPI support mean the QNP-6250R integrates with most third-party VMS and NVR platforms, making it a practical long-range PTZ choice for large properties, farms, and industrial yards.
§ 02Engineering
QNP-6250R specifications
- 360-Degree Endless Pan / -20 to 90-Degree Tilt: Max. pan speed 700 deg/sec (preset), tilt 300 deg/sec (preset); 300 presets at +/-0.2 degree accuracy
- 100m IR Night Vision: 850nm IR LEDs; min. illumination 0.05 lux (colour) / 0.005 lux (B/W)
- 120 Decibel True WDR + SSNR V: Handles high-contrast scenes and reduces noise in low light
- Digital Image Stabilization: Built-in gyro sensor counters vibration for steadier PTZ footage
- Auto Tracking & Video Analytics: Motion detection (8 zones), tampering, audio detection, virtual line/area analytics
- IP66 & IK10 Rated: Weatherproof, impact-resistant aluminium housing, -35C to +55C operating range
- WiseStream II + H.265 up to 60fps: Up to 10 simultaneous streaming profiles, 20 unicast users
- PoE+ Powered, ONVIF S/G/T & SUNAPI: Max. 25.5W (14.7W typical), broad VMS/NVR compatibility, 256GB microSD edge storage
§ 04Why choose this
Built for the way you actually use the QNP-6250R
100m Active IR for Unlit Perimeters
850nm IR illuminators reach 100m, so boundaries without street lighting -- driveways, paddocks, loading yards -- stay visible after dark, not just brighter under existing light.
Stable Footage on Exposed Pole Mounts
Built-in gyro-based digital image stabilisation counters wind sway and vibration, which matters most at the telephoto end of the 25x zoom where small movements are magnified into visible blur.
IP66 + IK10 Toughened Housing
Aluminium, hard-coated dome construction is sealed against dust and rain (IP66) and impact-rated to IK10, built to run from -35C to +55C on exposed mounts.
Lower Ongoing Storage & Network Load
H.265 with WiseStream II is designed to ease the load a continuously streaming PTZ places on NVR storage and site bandwidth, rather than just producing a smaller file for its own sake.
Broad VMS/NVR Compatibility
ONVIF Profile S, G and T plus SUNAPI support mean the QNP-6250R slots into most third-party VMS and NVR software, not just Hanwha's own Wisenet platform -- useful when a site is mixing brands.
§ 05Where it fits
Right at home in these scenarios
Rural Property & Farm Boundaries
One pole-mounted QNP-6250R can patrol fence lines and gates with 300 presets and 360-degree pan instead of running several fixed cameras out to each point, while the 100m IR illuminator keeps unlit paddock entries visible overnight.
Industrial Yards & Loading Docks
IP66/IK10 housing and a -35C to +55C operating range handle exposed yard mounts, dust and knocks from forklifts or stacked stock, while preset tours let one camera check multiple dock doors and stockpiles automatically.
Exposed Rooftop & Tower Installations
Built-in gyro image stabilisation keeps footage usable on wind-exposed rooftops and towers, which matters most at long zoom where a slight sway would otherwise blur the image.
Remote Sites With Unreliable Connectivity
Local microSD edge recording keeps capturing footage if the link back to a farm shed or site office drops out, and DHCP-by-default addressing means the camera is easy to bring onto a new network without manual configuration.
§ 06Setup
Installation & setup
What's in the Box
1. Hanwha QNP-6250R PTZ Camera x 1 2. Mounting Hardware x 1 set 3. Quick Start Guide x 1
Installation Requirements
1. Power: PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at, Class 4) -- max. 25.5W, typical 14.7W. 2. Network: Metal shielded RJ-45 (10/100BASE-T) Ethernet port. 3. Mounting: Pole or wall mount; camera weighs 3100g (6.83lb), housing dia. 158 x 293.3mm (6.22 x 11.55"). 4. Storage: Optional microSD/SDHC/SDXC card, max. 256GB, for edge recording at event triggers.
Network Setup
1. By factory default, the camera receives its IP address automatically from a DHCP server. 2. To view the camera from outside the local network, configure port-forwarding on the router or allow the connection through the firewall -- without this, remote access from the internet will fail. 3. Add the camera to a VMS/NVR via ONVIF Profile S/G/T or Hanwha SUNAPI for third-party system integration.
