What the HV-QNF-9010 is

The Hanwha HV-QNF-9010 is a 12MP indoor fisheye camera built around a 1/2.3" CMOS sensor and a 1.08mm fisheye lens, delivering 3008x3008 resolution across a full 187° horizontal and 187° vertical field of view.

The higher pixel density (compared to the 6-megapixel QNF-8010 sibling) is what pays off during incident review — you can digitally zoom into a section of the room and still get identifiable detail rather than a smudge.

On-camera dewarping produces original fisheye, single panorama, double panorama and quad view outputs in parallel, keeping the VMS server free of geometry processing.

120dB WDR holds backlit doorways and window reflections; on-board heatmap and people counting drive retail footfall data.

How does the 12MP version compare to the QNF-8010?

Both cameras share the same 187° horizontal + 187° vertical fisheye view, dewarping modes, WDR and analytics feature set. The 12MP QNF-9010 delivers 3008x3008 resolution — double the pixel count of the 6-megapixel QNF-8010's 2048x2048. That headroom matters when you need to digitally zoom into a corner of the room during incident review; otherwise the 6-megapixel version does the same job for less.

What's dewarping and does it need a plugin?

Dewarping unrolls the round fisheye image into a flat perspective view. On this camera it runs in-hardware and outputs single panorama, double panorama or quad view live, so the VMS receives already-flat streams — no plugin or add-on module.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

No. The indoor IP42 rating covers dust and vertical water drips only, not rain, direct sun or wind-driven debris. Use strictly for indoor ceiling installations.

What analytics come with it?

Defocus detection, tampering detection, motion detection, heatmap and people counting are built in. All accessible via the web interface or any ONVIF-compatible VMS with no additional licence.

Does it integrate with third-party VMS?

Yes. ONVIF Profile S / G / T is supported, so the camera drops into any ONVIF-compatible VMS. Native Wisenet WAVE and SSM integration is the fullest; SUNAPI (HTTP API) is documented for custom code.

Any known caveats when adding to a multi-channel setup?

Hanwha's own support FAQ notes that when a second or third video channel is added, channel 1 may initially show the same content as the new channel. This is a configuration matter (each channel should be assigned its own dewarping mode) rather than a defect, and is fixed in the camera's web settings.

How much light does it need for a colour image?

Minimum illumination for a usable colour image is 0.39 Lux at 1/30 sec, F2.2. Typical indoor office and retail lighting clears that comfortably; in significantly darker rooms the image quality drops progressively.
