01Overview

What the DH-IPC-HFW3867E-AS-IL-ANZ is

The Dahua DH-IPC-HFW3867E-AS-IL-ANZ is an 8 MP WizSense fixed-focal bullet camera engineered for monitoring environments requiring high-definition detail, intelligent detection functions, and resilient outdoor performance. A 1/2.7" CMOS sensor paired with a bright F1.4 aperture lens captures crisp 8 MP (3840 x 2160) video at up to 25/30 fps. To tackle challenging lighting conditions, the camera utilizes a 120 dB Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), Highlight Compensation (HLC), and Backlight Compensation (BLC) to accommodate various monitoring scenes. Fixed 2.8 mm or 3.6 mm lens options define the field of view to optimize coverage.

Its low-light capabilities are supported by starlight technology, holding color down to 0.007 lux before switching to 0.0007 lux in black and white. Smart Dual Light technology optimizes illumination based on real-time activity: the camera relies on discrete IR illumination at night, but triggers a warm white light up to 30 m to capture full-color video and key event details the moment a human or vehicle enters the area. Once the target exits, the white light shuts off to minimize light pollution. AI Scene Self-adaptation (AI SSA) uses deep learning to constantly detect changing conditions like rain, fog, backlight, low light, and light flicker, adjusting parameters on the fly. Onboard analytics include SMD 4.0 and perimeter protection (tripwire and intrusion), filtering out false alarms from animals by focusing purely on human and vehicle classifications. A built-in microphone records audio context alongside the stream, supporting audio compression like PCM and G.711.

Constructed from a robust metal casing, the camera features an IP67 rating ensuring the enclosure can function normally after soaking in 1 m deep water for 30 minutes. It accommodates a wide voltage input tolerance of ±30% to withstand outdoor environments with unstable voltage. Power is delivered via standard 12 VDC or PoE (802.3af), with a dual power backup system allowing continuous work without restarting if one source is disconnected. A local microSD slot supports capacities up to 512 GB while Smart H.265+, Smart H.264+, and AI Coding optimize bandwidth and storage environments. For rapid target searching, the camera integrates with back-end devices to enable Quick Pick and AcuPick functionalities to quickly locate targets.

Full Color Night Vision

Unlike plain black-and-white night vision, this camera can capture colour after dark — so you can pick out the actual colour of a car, a jacket or a bag, detail that grey infrared footage loses.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the DH-IPC-HFW3867E-AS-IL-ANZ

Q.01

How does the Smart Dual Light illumination function at night?
By default, the camera keeps its IR illuminator on during the night to maintain low-profile monitoring. When a target enters the area, the smart algorithm detects it, turns on the white light, and records full-color video. Once the target leaves the area, the white light turns off and the IR illuminator turns back on to minimize light pollution.
Q.02

What are the differences between the 2.8 mm and 3.6 mm lens choices?
They offer different fields of view (FOV) and DORI (Detect, Observe, Recognize, Identify) performance ranges: 2.8 mm lens: Offers a broader FOV (H: 110°; V: 58°; D: 132°) with a standard target detection distance of 84.8 m (278.22 ft). 3.6 mm lens: Offers a narrower, more focused FOV (H: 86°; V: 49°; D: 100°) with a standard target detection distance extending up to 98.7 m (323.82 ft).
Q.03

Does this camera support local storage if the network drops?
Yes, it features an onboard Micro SD slot that supports a maximum capacity of 512 GB. It also triggers a network disconnection alarm event if connection issues occur.
Q.04

What kind of automated anomaly detections does the camera provide?
It detects a wide range of abnormalities including motion detection, video tampering, scene changing, audio detection, voltage issues, network disconnection, IP conflicts, illegal access, as well as multiple SD card errors (no SD card, card full, or card error).
Q.05

What is the benefit of the AI SSA feature?
AI Scene Self-adaptation (AI SSA) uses deep learning to recognize environmental impacts like rain, fog, heavy backlight, low light, and light flicker. It automatically modifies the image parameters to guarantee that clear images are consistently delivered under those conditions.
