About Hikvision 6MP CCTV Kits

Hikvision 6MP CCTV kits are the most popular Hikvision kit resolution at Smarket — combining the residential sweet spot resolution (3072×2048) with AcuSense AI on every camera, Hikvision NVR with built-in PoE, and pre-installed WD Purple HDD. The DS-2CD2366G2-IU 6MP turret series anchors the kit cameras; storage economy is 33% better than equivalent 4K kits.

Best for: typical 3-bedroom Australian homes where 6MP is sufficient for facial identification at home distances; properties needing extended footage retention on smaller HDDs; budget-conscious buyers within Hikvision ecosystem. Step up to Hikvision 4K kits for licence plate capture; or compare with all 6MP cameras across brands.

Why Choose Hikvision 6MP CCTV Kits?

Most Popular Hikvision Kit Resolution
6MP combines sufficient detail for residential identification with 33% better storage economy than 4K. Real Smarket purchase data confirms 6MP kits dominate Hikvision sales for typical Australian residential CCTV.

AcuSense AI on Every Camera
DS-2CD2366G2-IU 6MP turrets include AcuSense human and vehicle classification — smart push notifications and NVR target search across all channels. False alerts dramatically reduced.

Storage-Friendly Long Retention
A 4TB WD Purple HDD holds ~30 days continuous from 4× 6MP cameras at H.265+ (vs ~22 days at 4K). For long retention without expensive HDD upgrades, 6MP kits are the right balance.

Common Questions about Hikvision 6MP CCTV Kits

Why choose a Hikvision 6MP kit over a 4K kit?

For most Australian residential CCTV, 6MP delivers sufficient detail for facial identification at typical home distances (5-15m) with 33% better storage economy. Choose 4K only when licence plate capture or extended-range identification matters at every position. Mixed strategy (6MP kit + later 4K driveway camera upgrade) is also possible — Hikvision NVRs support mixed resolutions on different channels.

Which Hikvision 6MP kit is best for a 3-bedroom home?

The 4-camera 6MP kit (4× DS-2CD2366G2-IU + DS-7608NI 8CH NVR + 4TB WD Purple) covers front door, back door, driveway, side gate. Most-purchased Hikvision residential kit at Smarket.

Before you buy

What customers ask most before ordering from this range — and how we deliver.

See all FAQs →

How many cameras do I need?

Walk around your property and list every approach: front door, driveway, side gates, back yard, garage. Each one is a camera. A typical house needs 4; a corner block or larger property needs 6–8. Buy an NVR with spare channels — an 8-channel NVR with 4 cameras lets you add more later without replacing anything.

Should I choose 6MP or 8MP (4K)?

8MP (3840 × 2160) gives you noticeably more detail when you zoom into a face or number plate, and with H.265+ compression the extra storage cost is small. 6MP (3072 × 2048) is a good value choice for close-range areas like a front door or side passage. If the camera covers a driveway, street frontage or anything more than about 10 metres away, go 8MP.

How long does delivery take?

Metro delivery usually takes 2–4 business days after dispatch, and regional areas may take longer. You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order leaves the warehouse.

How much is shipping?

Standard shipping is free on all orders over $300 AUD, Australia-wide. Orders under $300 ship at a flat rate of $25, calculated at checkout. Tracking is included on every order.

What warranty do you offer?

All cameras, NVRs and DVRs come with a 3-year back-to-base manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Hard drives and accessories are covered as set out in our Warranty Policy.

What is your return policy?

You have 30 days from the day you receive your order to request a change-of-mind return. Items must be unopened, factory-sealed and in resalable condition. A 15% restocking fee applies and return postage is at your cost. Faulty or incorrectly supplied items are different: we cover the return shipping and refund or replace at no charge. Read the full Return & Refund Policy.

Do you offer installation?

We can connect you with licensed installers in Sydney and Melbourne. Installation typically starts from around $200 per camera depending on cable runs and site conditions. Email sales@smarket.com.au with your address and camera count for a quote.
