About Hikvision 4K CCTV Kits

Hikvision 4K (8MP) CCTV kits deliver evidence-grade 3840×2160 resolution at every camera position — for installations where licence plate capture, front-door facial ID at extended range, and commercial-grade detail matter across the entire system. Standard 4K kits use DS-2CD2386G2 turret series; ColorVu (-LSU/SL) variants add full-colour night vision down to 0.0005 lux on select kits.

All Hikvision 4K kits ship with appropriately-sized WD Purple surveillance HDD (typically 4-8TB to handle 4K storage demands at H.265+) and Hikvision NVR with built-in PoE matched to camera count. Available in 4-camera (DS-7608NI 8CH NVR with 4 spare ports), 6-camera, and 8-camera configurations. For 6MP economy at the same Hikvision tier, see Hikvision 6MP CCTV kits. Compare with all 4K CCTV kits (cross-brand).

What's Included in Hikvision 4K CCTV Kits

Hikvision 4K kits available by camera count:

• Hikvision 8MP 4-camera kits — typical 3-bedroom 4K coverage

• Hikvision 8MP 8-camera kits — full perimeter 4K

Components: DS-2CD2386G2 (or ColorVu -LSU/SL) cameras + Hikvision NVR + pre-installed WD Purple HDD.

Comparing Hikvision 4K CCTV Kits Models

Hikvision 4K Kit vs 6MP Kit vs Cross-Brand 4K

vs Hikvision 6MP kit: 4K adds 33% pixels and ColorVu availability. 6MP saves 33% storage. Mixed strategy (4K driveway + 6MP elsewhere) is also possible.

vs Dahua 4K kit: Dahua adds TiOC active deterrence at 4K (HFW3849T1-AS-PV). Hikvision adds ColorVu full-colour night vision. Choose by feature priority.

Why Choose Hikvision 4K CCTV Kits?

ColorVu Available at Kit Level
Select Hikvision 4K kits include ColorVu (-LSU/SL) camera variants — full-colour night vision down to 0.0005 lux. Captures clothing colours, vehicle paint, and facial detail at night where standard IR cameras render black-and-white only. Unique at 4K kit level to Hikvision.

AcuSense AI Standard Across All Channels
The 4K cameras in our Hikvision kits feature AcuSense human and vehicle classification — smart push notifications and NVR target search across all channels. Combined with 4K detail, this delivers identification capability that 6MP + AcuSense doesn't fully match.

Pre-Sized 4K-Ready HDD
Smarket pre-installs WD Purple HDD sized for 4K storage demands — typically 4TB for 4-camera kits, 8TB for 8-camera kits. 4K consumes ~33% more storage than 6MP at H.265+; correctly-sized HDD prevents premature retention drop-off.

Common Questions about Hikvision 4K CCTV Kits

Should I buy a Hikvision 4K kit or 6MP kit?

For properties needing licence plate capture or front-door facial ID at extended range across the entire system, 4K kits are the right choice. For most residential where 6MP is sufficient at general perimeter positions, choose a 6MP kit and consider upgrading just the driveway camera to 4K later (the kit's NVR supports mixed-resolution channels).

Do Hikvision 4K kits include ColorVu cameras?

Select 4K kit configurations include ColorVu (-LSU/SL) cameras at key positions; standard 4K kits use AcuSense + IR night vision. Confirm the specific camera variants on the product page or ask Smarket support for ColorVu kit configurations.

How much HDD does a Hikvision 4K kit need?

For 4-camera 4K continuous H.265+ recording: 4TB ≈ 22 days, 6TB ≈ 33 days, 8TB ≈ 44 days. For 8-camera 4K: 8TB minimum (~22 days). Smarket pre-sizes appropriately; specify longer retention requirements for upgrade.

Before you buy

What customers ask most before ordering from this range — and how we deliver.

See all FAQs →

How many cameras do I need?

Walk around your property and list every approach: front door, driveway, side gates, back yard, garage. Each one is a camera. A typical house needs 4; a corner block or larger property needs 6–8. Buy an NVR with spare channels — an 8-channel NVR with 4 cameras lets you add more later without replacing anything.

Should I choose 6MP or 8MP (4K)?

8MP (3840 × 2160) gives you noticeably more detail when you zoom into a face or number plate, and with H.265+ compression the extra storage cost is small. 6MP (3072 × 2048) is a good value choice for close-range areas like a front door or side passage. If the camera covers a driveway, street frontage or anything more than about 10 metres away, go 8MP.

How long does delivery take?

Metro delivery usually takes 2–4 business days after dispatch, and regional areas may take longer. You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order leaves the warehouse.

How much is shipping?

Standard shipping is free on all orders over $300 AUD, Australia-wide. Orders under $300 ship at a flat rate of $25, calculated at checkout. Tracking is included on every order.

What warranty do you offer?

All cameras, NVRs and DVRs come with a 3-year back-to-base manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Hard drives and accessories are covered as set out in our Warranty Policy.

What is your return policy?

You have 30 days from the day you receive your order to request a change-of-mind return. Items must be unopened, factory-sealed and in resalable condition. A 15% restocking fee applies and return postage is at your cost. Faulty or incorrectly supplied items are different: we cover the return shipping and refund or replace at no charge. Read the full Return & Refund Policy.

Do you offer installation?

We can connect you with licensed installers in Sydney and Melbourne. Installation typically starts from around $200 per camera depending on cable runs and site conditions. Email sales@smarket.com.au with your address and camera count for a quote.
