Does the white light stay on all night with this camera?
No — in Smart mode, the camera uses infrared (IR) light by default and only switches on the white light when a person or vehicle is detected, then reverts to IR once they leave. You can also set it to full-time white light (ColorVu) or IR-only mode via the camera's web interface.
Does this camera work with my existing Hikvision NVR?
Yes, it's compatible with Hikvision NVRs via plug-and-play when both devices are on the same network and firmware is current. If you're running older NVR firmware, update it first — mismatched firmware can cause detection issues or reduce access to smart features like human/vehicle filtering.
How much PoE power does this camera require, and will my switch handle it?
It requires IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) Class 4, drawing up to 18W. Standard 802.3af switches (max 15.4W) are not sufficient — make sure your PoE switch or NVR supports 802.3at before purchasing.
Can I zoom and focus the lens remotely without physically touching the camera?
