Installation Requirements

1. Licensed Cabler: Australian law requires registered cabler for all under-floor, in-wall or in-roof ethernet cabling per ACT, NSW and Victorian electrical regulations to maintain building insurance coverage. 2. CAT6 Ethernet Cables: Outdoor-rated cables required with 95-metre maximum length per camera, connecting to NVR's built-in 4-port PoE switch rather than directly to your router. 3. Power Supply: NVR requires standard 240V Australian mains power outlet, consuming 46 watts maximum across all four cameras with each camera drawing 8.8 watts through PoE connection. 4. Mounting Surface: Install on rendered brick, Colorbond steel or timber cladding at 2.5-3 metre height using appropriate masonry drill bits or self-tapping screws with waterproof sealing. 5. NBN Connection: Compatible with all connection types including FTTP, FTTN, FTTC, HFC and Fixed Wireless, requiring 2-4 Mbps upload bandwidth per camera for remote viewing on basic NBN 25 plans.

App Setup

1. Download the DMSS app from Apple App Store or Google Play Store, ensuring iOS 11 or later or Android 9.0 or later for optimal compatibility. 2. Connect monitor via HDMI during first NVR power-up, set strong admin password with uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols to prevent password guessing attacks. 3. Enable UPNP on your NBN router first, then enable UPNP and P2P on the NVR under Network menu for automatic remote access without manual port forwarding. 4. Launch DMSS app, create Dahua account, tap Devices and scan the QR code displayed on NVR's Device Information menu to automatically configure P2P connection. 5. Configure Smart Motion Detection zones in Camera Event menu, setting detection target to Human and Motor Vehicle with 60-70% sensitivity to minimise false alarms from wildlife.
